Job Description

The Media Relations Partner we are currently looking for to join our team is a team player with experience in working with media relations and PR. You will be responsible for leading planned and unplanned PR, mainly within range related topics.

You support the business by identifying, planning and executing proactive PR opportunities, mitigating risks and catering for the best possible support for unplanned requests. You contribute with topics for the editorial news flow, support with content and ideas for the global social media channels and work together with the Event team to ensure the best possible outcome in global press events. 

Your tasks also include to contribute to the overall team assignments such as on-duty function, contribute with advice in the general risk process such as media risk analysis and act as second-line support for incoming media requests within your areas of responsibility. As an Media Relations Partner , you take the lead in situations when IKEA is challenged and secures trained spokespersons in relevant areas. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you have an eye for a good story, several creative ideas on how to carry it out and experience of strategic PR and media risk mitigation. 

We believe that you have a strong knowledge of the media landscape and logic, social media as well as the digital landscape and deep knowledge of earned media. You also need to have knowledge of media monitoring and extensive knowledge and experience of Public Relations in general and how it is used towards different target groups. You also need a strong understanding of how communication affects stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand and have an excellent capability to judge messaging for external communication. Experience from working with media relations within IKEA is qualifying, and experience in global media relations is a plus. 

You are fluent in English, and it is needless to say that you have an excellent ability to communicate verbally and write in an inspirational way with the IKEA tone of voice.
