Automation development department in Development Arena has assignment to develop & innovate automatic solutions in manufacturing for sustainable competitive advantage. Working closely with IKEA Industry factories, technology suppliers, product engineers, research institutions and global manufacturers entire lifecycle of automation is covered – from identifying business case until installation and through continuous improvements improving work conditions for many co-workers.

Engineering & Energy department in Development Arena is focusing on providing engineering excellence and ensuring that our factories are producing as sustainable and energy efficient as possible. Steering and optimizing the energy consumption in our factories is an opportunity to make a positive contribution for our planet by minimizing our environmental footprint.

Right now we are looking for a Dust Extraction Leader that will contribute to the continues development of the dust extraction area. This is a global role that will support all IKEA Industry factories.

Job Description

Dust extraction is the biggest potential for energy savings at a typical furniture factory. IKEA Industry have developed a sophisticated steering system for dust extraction filters called Dust Extraction Energy Manager (DEEM). IKEA Industry is in the middle of an extensive DEEM program were we are rebuilding and installing DEEM on existing filters at IKEA Industry factories.  

As the Dust Extraction Leader you will lead and support the implementation of DEEM at IKEA Industry units and support with filter procurement, system design, installation, commissioning, testing and troubleshooting of dust extraction systems.

The role  includes leading development projects as well as managing improvements of such systems in full operation in close cooperation with factory representatives, industry experts, product development and several of the collaborating companies and research institutions.

  • Experience from dust extraction filter optimization and filter procurement
  • Experience from design, installation, commissioning and testing of dust extraction systems
  • Experience from ATEX
  • Frequency Inverter know-how
  • Automation Electronics (hands on

  • Manufacturing processes
  • Project Management
  • Cross-cultural relationships
  • Good in verbal and written English
  • Knowledge and potential ability of leading and developing people
