IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Our office operates in Istanbul as a part of Purchasing & Logistics Area South under IKEA Supply.

Job Description

We are now looking for a Business Developer into the Category Appliances for Istanbul Office. We offer a stimulating role where you will work on a global and regional arena developing business and people together. 

In Appliances category we are 26 co-workers sitting in 5 different locations (Älmhult, Milano, Philadelphia, Shenzhen & Tokyo). We love to purchase high quality appliances products that are affordable and can reach more of the many people. We believe in working together and have a positive and action-oriented attitude!


What will you do?

As Business Developer you will;

  • Develop partnerships with suppliers – the micro-team regularly travels to the field to solve issues first-hand production from the ground up, and provide suppliers with feedback and help with the implementation of action plans.
  • Create cost break down analyses – you will look for price saving opportunities for existing products and demand the production of new ones, especially from existing suppliers.
  • Operation – regular communications with suppliers (emails, calls), management and team meetings, project implementation, and data entry.
  • At any time, use Fact-based Business leadership
  • Work closely with our team in Milano office and be responsible for the business opportunities in the region of Europe.

 

You will be in remote connection with your manager who is located in Milano. Extensive travel will be required for the position. 

Qualifications

Please read what you need for the role:

  • You are aware of economics and finance – understanding of a company financials like cash-flow, P&L, income statement etc., able to work with cost breakdown, the price is alpha and omega for us.
  • Passion for business and the end-goal, both will come in handy when negotiating with suppliers, you must be strict but fair, solution-oriented person, concentrating energy on fixing all the normal business issues.
  • You will use the art of dealing with people, empathy, and good communication skills, in coordinating your small micro-team and in dealing with suppliers and many other stakeholders in the IKEA supply chain.
  • Analytical skills that are necessary for working with numbers, when negotiating prices, or when setting priorities for your work, which is usually high paced and demanding.
  • An interest in production and discovering the latest technologies in home furnishing and appliances.

 

Who are you?

As our Business Developer you have an entrepreneurial spirit with a strong ability to lead. Previous similar experience is mandatory for this position. Previous experience in appliances industry is a plus. You are good at both clarifying and inspiring, building networks and long term partnerships. You combine strategic work with a hands-on approach and you have the ability to communicate a complex assignment in logic, clear and simple manner. You like challenges and to step into the unknown. You lead the business with analytical and holistic view, always keeping customer, supplier and IKEA in mind.
