In the Product Compliance Team based in Älmhult, we measure product compliance status, develop common working routines with the goal that IKEA products live up to our high quality and safety demands. We are now looking for a Global Chemical Leader with good experience to join our team.

Job Description

  • As a Global Chemical Leader in this role, you are a part of Global Quality team, focusing on chemical compliance of IKEA products, based on IKEA chemical requirements. 
  • Supporting Business teams and Suppliers on how to interpret and implement IKEA requirements in the daily operations.
  • Lead, align and coach colleagues in IKEA Purchasing in the many projects and questions related to chemistry.
  • Be the lead voice of IKEA Purchasing’s input in requirement development to ensure that IKEA requirements are understandable, map the reality related and highlight consequences.
  • Support in securing chemical compliance at suppliers. You will also be involved in the on-boarding work with new suppliers and mitigating risks in product safety and chemical/microbiological compliance.
  • Mapping of critical chemical substances/materials and processes and perform risk assessments.

Qualifications

We believe that the person in this role has a university degree in chemistry with a senior project leader profile, working with customer product requirements with focus on chemicals. With a diplomatic mindset, a positive attitude, and determination, you know how to lead, motivate, and present. You can establish and maintain a stakeholder network, have an eye for improvement, and you are not afraid to challenge when you see the need to.
 

Furthermore, to be successful in this role, we believe you have

  •  Solid IKEA Product knowledge including testing of products
  •  Deep knowledge about chemicals used for consumer products
  •  Experience in Compliance
  •  Understanding of how business and quality go together
  •  Good communication skills, the ability to make difficult things understandable

You should also have solid knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel.
