Job Description

The CBR PMO ​purpose is to support Range Innovation and Development council (RIDC), in robust decision-making in line with the strategic goals. The CBR PMO provides simplicity, transparency and visibility on the total portfolio including gaps and opportunities. This facilitates RIDC to plan, prioritize and to focus on development efforts within Core Business Range. The CBR PMO is tracking and reporting business performance within the scope of RIDC from idea to value realization, through collaborations across core businesses and CBR units. 

We are now looking for a Portfolio Leader 

A Portfolio Leader in the CBR PMO leads assigned parts of the Core Business Range portfolio, ensuring movements towards set strategies and directions. Portfolio Leaders are key contributors to develop and maintain Portfolio Management excellence in Core Business Range. 

You will manage the assigned portfolio through a strong collaboration across teams, both internally and externally. Portfolio Leaders prepare, participate, and support the established Range Innovation and Development Council (RIDC) to ensure the highest possible strategic alignment and direction of the Development- and Innovation portfolios. Actively manages the portfolio, creating visibility, and ensuring project/initiative’s execution according to defined methods and required performance, building up good examples and nurture agility. 

Furthermore, we would like you to: 

  • Build professional, long-term collaborations, together with the Range Innovation Manager. Be the “entry point” for stakeholders and their business needs linked to the remit of the Range Innovation and Development council and/or related sub-councils 

  • Develop, implement, maintain, and advocate Portfolio Management ways of working and related planning and performance frameworks in Core Business Range 

  • Actively navigate portfolio, identifying gaps and advice for optimization & prioritization to decision makers and relevant stakeholders by: 

Regular monitoring and support of the planning and execution of the projects & initiatives from a portfolio management perspective 

        Analyzing the recent opportunity against the existing portfolio 

  • Ensure full visibility of the portfolio towards relevant stakeholders through portfolio reporting covering status of execution and addressing relevant deviations with actions 

  • Responsible for securing quality and sharp business cases and/or decision documentation required for best decision-making  

  • Act as expert of project and portfolio management: Identify needs and gaps, and together with the team build leadership and competence in CBR, embedding the portfolio management best practice in the organization 

  • Represent CBR PMO in selected networks, as agreed with the PMO Manager 

  • Develop, lead, and secure effective execution of the portfolio management processes

Capability to move with speed and clear direction and to challenge others towards a higher degree of strategic alignment for IKEA. 

We also want you to have:  

  • Experience in Portfolio Management and Strategic work  

  • Very good knowledge and understanding of working in global and complex matrix organizations  

  • Excellent leadership skills, driving team of peers or colleagues towards common goals 

  • Incredibly good knowledge of using Portfolio Management systems, preferably Planview   

  • Very good knowledge of Change Management and implementation principles in an agile environment 

  • Knowledge of best practice for creation and delivery of various reports, utilizing portfolio management system and platforms  

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Fluent in English both written and verbal 

  • Experience of financial valuations with knowledge of creating business cases 

  • Good knowledge of data analytics and creating insights on strategic and operational level
