About the assignment

  • Responsible for Food safety & Quality assurance for assigned suppliers.
  • Responsible to secure IKEA Food Safety requirements are fulfilled, as well to plan and execute Food Safety & Quality Assessments at all supplier locations according to IKEA ways of working. Based on assessment results, secure suppliers corrective action plan & initiate business consequences.
  • Evaluate potential new supplier’s production facilities from  Food Safety, manufacturing and technical capability point of view as well their quality management systems.  Responsible to continuously improve the supplier's production processes, manufacturing efficiency, and, share best practices/knowledge. Secure suppliers are in the lead and take full responsibility for their performance.
  • Facilitate product development at the factory floor from a food safety , democratic design & technical point of view and secure scalability for further implementation at other suppliers.
  • Clarify together with BA Food the sensory evaluation, analysis requirements and required tests that supplier has to perform during the development stage and secure them with suppliers. Responsible for having all IKEA requirements fulfilled before production start and secure the product is at correct quality level according to Food Purchase Agreement and any other applicable IKEA agreement or requirement document.
  • Responsible for First production Verification for all new, moved and improved products together with supplier, according to IKEA ways of working. Responsible to release first delivery when all IKEA requirements are fulfilled.
  • Responsible to secure and validate all IKEA required documents are correct, complete and available in the specified IT systems before first delivery.
  • Responsible for investigation step in the product deviation process for all cases where Supplier is identified as causing part, with sense of urgency, and capture learning from previous product deviations. Secure root-cause analysis, stock correction and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Responsible to identify, submit and lead/execute Product Improvements that positively impact customer satisfaction, any dimension of democratic design, as well to utilize material and energy in an efficient way.
  • Contributor in Product Specification development / maintenance. Responsible to collect, quality assure, register and update product & packaging information in  IKEA IT systems.
  • Secure & collect supplier certificates for import.

Qualifications

  • Fluent in Japanese & English
  • Very good knowledge of food production processes and technologies
  • Basic knowledge of organoleptic and sensorial evaluation
  • Very good knowledge of IKEA requirements, standards and test methods
  • Very good at evaluating supplier Food Safety and  production capabilities to produce IKEA food products
  • Very good understanding of Democratic design and customer needs and expectations
  • Strong knowledge of FSQA and production set up including cost calculation and materials
  • Good knowledge of Lean production methods and tools (Root cause analysis, waste reduction etc)
  • Very good knowledge IKEA Food PLM system (i-Food)
  • Understanding of IKEA Strategic Landscape, IKEA Business model for growth and key processes (e.g. PDP, SDP, RPRD) and IKEA Purchasing Manual
  • Understanding of key quality roles and responsibilities across IKEA Range & Supply (BA, CA, PLA, SCO, IOS Requirement Engineering as well their interactions
