Job Description

IKEA Customs Coordination Centre (CCC) is a central function of the Inter IKEA Group that handles and coordinates international customs and trade questions. CCC’s main function is to, in a strategic perspective, handle, support and co-ordinate customs and trade related matters for IKEA globally. Right now, we are looking for a new Global Customs & Trade Advisors to our team at our head office in Älmhult.

As a Global Customs & Trade Advisor you will have a vital role in the representation of IKEA and advisor in the customs and trade area. The IKEA product range is created and produced for a global market. This is part of what we call making a better everyday life for the many. But if we don´t comply with customs and trade directives we wouldn’t be able to sell any of it. And this… is where you come in! At IKEA CCC we are now looking for a new team member who stays on top of customs and trade regulations for our range of products. A guru within customs, in short!

Your main assignment will be to support, handle and advise in global customs and trade issues within IKEA. Securing that our development organisation has the prerequisites to make our products accessible for our customers in different markets. By a proactive work you will influence other external parties such as different trade groups and customs authorities.

Example of tasks:

  • You are responsible for the solution of issues and how it can be solved with a global perspective
  • Lead and participate in global projects within IKEA
  • Act as advisor for our product development and initiate internal trainings/programs concerning customs and trade issues within IKEA

This assignment is very diverse and requires that you enjoy working within a large perspective. It is a challenging and rewarding role and means you will be co-operating with many different groups of people, like IKEA product development teams, customs authorities, EU commission and the WCO. But, if you are experienced in working with different aspects from a customs and trade point of view, you will be ready for the task. In addition, we’d like to see you are not afraid to show your face (on screen or off screen) and be heard, as in this role you will lead trainings and information distribution to the entire IKEA product development organization. You know a lot about rules of origin, free trade agreements, anti-dumping, safeguards and/or customs legislation, and you are ready to share. Of course, you keep yourself updated with the latest news on the global arena of customs and trade. Since you will be working on a global arena, we believe “you” have excellent communication skills both spoken and written English
