Job Description

Hej, it’s nice to connect with you here, my name is Hanna who works as an Engineering manager at IKEA home smart firmware team. I’m currently looking for an experienced engineer to join our team.

We are an international team of around 20 people, who work with different IoT products and solutions, Give a look at some products you are going to work with! and our first and latest Matter-ready hub Dirigera - You will join an amazing group of talented people with an entrepreneurial mindset who are set on democratizing the smart home.  

As a Senior IoT engineer you are responsible for:  

  • Applying industry standards for software engineering that support development, maintenance, and rapid, continuous software deliveries; 
  • Delivering tested, ready-to-be-deployed, and well-maintainable code that supports and enables business needs according to the agreed planning and budget. 
  • Defining architectural principles, security requirements, rules, best practices, guidelines, and interoperability requirements.  
  • Working closely together with other software engineers and functions to produce all required design documentation and ensure that solutions work together and fulfill business needs. 
  • Working proactively together with stakeholders to set new technologies and platforms for new generations of smart products 

Qualifications

You bring with you: 

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in the IoT/Electronics/Software Industry 
  • Capabilities and experience in designing and setting architecture for sustainable embedded software in C 
  • Security in embedded electronics development 
  • Experience in Electronics design 
  • Experience working with different wireless communication protocols 

As a person, you are: 

  • Curious about creating innovative solutions and great user experiences in the area of smart homes; 
  • Driven and able to design software and products right from the beginning; 
  • Experienced and motivated in working in a rapidly changing environment;  
  • A solution-oriented team player, loves to explore new technologies and open to learning  
  • Self-driven, stretching boundaries, challenging what already exists, and always striving to develop better products and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations.

This is a permanent position based in our Malmö office near central station (or possibly Älmhult), with the flexibility to work from home some days.
