Right now, we are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who together with us will
develop the IKEA product offer.

Job Description

As a Mechanical Design Engineer in our diverse, capable and curious team, you will be a part of the development of new solutions for the many people in the areas of Dining, Outdoor and Workspaces.

  • You are an important contributor in the creation of our new products and solutions to deliver the best customer experience, sustainable solution and quality, at the lowest costs.
  • You take a stand in important matters, and you are willing to challenge known patterns.
  • You will be planning and conducting your own projects and deliver the ready product and component, documented in a part centric way in Solidworks and Plus.
  • You will do this together with the team and suppliers around the world.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are passionate about creating the best mechanical design solution for the customer at the right price, with the right quality, with beautiful design and with a clear focus on sustainability.

  • We believe that you have a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering as well as theoretical and practical background within Mechanical Engineering and its impact of the value chain - from raw material to the co-worker and customer perspective.
  • You have an interest in material and production methods.
  • You have knowledge in mechanical design in terms of drawing technique, technical solutions and design for manufacturing, production techniques etc.
  • To succeed in this role, you need to learn to master SolidWorks and PLUS as tools in your work.
  • For this position we highly value great communication skills and the ability to lead yourself to make things happen.
  • You are thriving in working in the unknown, finding new solutions and have a passion to learn and make things happen. 

To be successful, you also need to have both analytical and creative skills and the ability to transfer knowledge, concepts, and ideas into mechanical design solutions. You are curious and work together with others to crate the best solution.
