We are now looking for a Communication Specialist for Business Area Food with a passion for health and sustainability communication and strong visually and verbally communication skills, interested in bringing business priorities come to life. You are structured, detailed oriented, engaged and easily connect and collaborate with people cross IKEA organizations. This is a permanent role within the Marketing and Communication function.

As a Communication Specialist you will be supporting the IKEA Food people and planet positive journey, working closely with Inter IKEA press office and key sustainability stakeholders across the IKEA network. This will require someone with both speed and attention for details, curiosity in solving business communication topics, media and PR experience and some knowledge of the IKEA landscape.

Job Description

We are looking for a Communication Specialist that will take lead in building understanding, engagement and ambassadorship of the food health and sustainability journey, bring clarity where we are heading and why, amongst customers, retailers, co-workers, partners, NGO´s and other stakeholders across the IKEA network. You will be a strong contributor in moving the corporate health and sustainability agenda for Food forward by being proactive and creative in setting the communication plans and developing communication assets.

You are a structured and great communicator and easily identifies key positioning messages and good stories. You have a strong can do attitude and enjoy both strategic discussions and collaborations as well as being hands on in developing the content and assets. You will be part of a communication network set up where you can bounce ideas and get creative input.  You are responsible for making the communication come to life by developing and utilizing an efficient mix of communication assets, channels and activities to strengthen engagement and trust in our journey forward.

In this position you will:

  • Develop and maintain the overall corporate health and sustainability communication to contribute to the positioning movements of IKEA Food. 
  • Lead, develop and support the health and sustainability communication initiatives and projects with creating communication plans, developing/write communication assets such as message house, Q&A’s, risk assessments, PPT’s
  • Identify and plan stories, brief editorial forum, prepare and produce content for a variety of communication channels internally and externally (e.g., articles for IKEA home, LinkedIn, Sustainability reports, IKEA.com, aboutikea.com).
  • Both proactive and reactive prepare input for press-releases, external engagements and contacts with NGO’s in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and press-office.
  • Build and influence the long-term trust in IKEA as a brand, company and employer.
  • Secure the IKEA tone of voice in all written and visual relevant communication, guidelines, tools and templates.
  • Be an ambassador and act as a role model of the IKEA brand, culture and values.
  • Participate and contribute to relevant networks and cross-functional assignments. 

Qualifications

  • To succeed in this role, you need to have a passion for messaging and stories to create great communication materials and  feel confident in working with digital channels, tools and creating ppt’s.
  • You have strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate in an inspirational way with IKEA tone of voice.
  • You are passionate about communication as a business enabler and tactical tool to lead business and people and to drive engagement. You have some experience of health and/or sustainability communication and media relations / PR.
  • As a person you are curious, proactive and hands on oriented and thrive in having different assignments on various topics while keeping the bigger picture in mind. You find it easy to adapt to new situations and to co-create to fulfill communication needs with a variety of stakeholders.
  • You are organised and know how to turn communication needs into inspiring and clear communication at the right time and in a way that meets both business objectives as well as the receiver needs.
  • You have experience from collaborating with stakeholders to build trust and partnership, strong relationships and networks. Knowledge of how to segment audiences, creating and strengthen key messages to support needs and situations of different target groups.
  • You are motivated to live and share our IKEA culture and values.
