IKEA Marketing and Communication AB is the company within IKEA responsible for developing all global communication for the IKEA businesses that develop, determine, and supply the IKEA range. Communication which will meet customers all over the world.  

The Media Relations and Newsdesk Team work in a global context with both planned and unplanned PR, editorial content and the global IKEA social media channels on topics related to range, supply and other areas that are important to the IKEA brand. The team plays a central part in identifying stories and angles, developing content and sharing communication around how the IKEA businesses within range and within supply, develop, design and supply the products. We support the business and all IKEA markets with proactive content, incoming media requests and advice when IKEA is being challenged.

Job Description

As an Editorial Writer, you will go behind the scenes to tell the stories about our future products and innovations, our business, collaborations, commitments, people, and culture and values. We do this to support the long-term IKEA priorities and the Marketing & Communication plan and cater for the best possible support for planned and unplanned opportunities.

You will be working across several focus areas and bringing your broad editorial writing experience to each project to effectively identify the story and create the most relevant content with the target audiences in mind. You will produce and collaborate on texts in the form of news articles, feature stories and information that effectively carries the right messages.

As an Editorial Writer, you are a team player with excellent stakeholder management skills. You will work in a context where the written story plays an important role and is a part of the bigger totality. You're expected to give the best possible support for planned and unplanned proactive and reactive opportunities and take an active role in contributing when IKEA is being challenged.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you have an excellent eye for a good story and ideas on how to carry it out. You are curious about understanding people and life at home. You know how to tell a story in a relevant and engaging way with the audience and impact in mind. We believe that you have a strong knowledge of the media landscape and logic, an in-depth understanding of earned and owned media, social media, and SEO knowledge.

You are a versatile writer with strong knowledge and experience working with content for the digital landscape. You have a strong understanding of how communication affects the stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand. You have an excellent capability to judge messaging for external audiences, including how to bring the message across and create engagement and dialogue. Experience from working in a newsroom is qualifying.

You’re fluent in English, and it’s needless to say that you are an excellent writer, passionate about telling engaging stories and capable of communicating both verbally and in writing in an inspirational way with the IKEA tone of voice.
