The role of IKEA Purchasing & Logistics is to provide purchasing and logistics services to source and distribute the IKEA range at the lowest total cost, making high quality available to the customer under good social and environmental conditions. Purchasing & Logistics Area North (PLAN) is one of seven Purchasing & Logistics Areas in the world, and our co-workers are based in Älmhult, Dortmund, Kaunas, and Moscow. PLAN consists of several functions, such as Purchasing Development, Supply Chain Operations with Quality Support Centre (QSC) and Supply Chain Development.

IKEA Food develops and provides the food sold and served in all IKEA Restaurants, Bistros, Swedish Food Markets and the IKEA co-worker restaurants. IKEA Food has 389 restaurants in 49 markets and every year 650 million guests are enjoying the IKEA Food.

About the assignment
In your role you will be responsible and take lead in creating and managing the business agenda from a purchasing perspective. We believe that you will build a professional and long term relationship with suppliers by challenging and negotiating through the IKEA way of doing business. You will have an overall responsibility for supplier performance and within that develop and implement action plans together with suppliers.

You will partner with suppliers and continuously increase the competitiveness and on an everyday base work to optimize costs of IKEA Food products. You will also professionally challenge suppliers to constantly improve all aspects of supplier performance to support the growth of IKEA Food. You will secure compliance in IKEA way of working (IWAY) and food safety standards.

Qualifications

About you
We believe that you are a person with lots of energy, drive and dynamics, you have enthusiasm for business and people and an entrepreneurship thinking. You want to drive the business further and have an end-to-end ownership for supply. You have a good structure of way of working, you are agile and can adapt to the changing environment. You are a true team player and can work in high paced environment. We expect you to have leadership skills and approved record of leading supplier development agenda. It is important also that you have deep knowledge of the processes within the purchasing area of the Food business in terms of supplier and market capabilities.

We also see that you have/are:
• extensive knowledge and experience in the field of food purchasing, preferably animal based
• economic and financial knowledge
• excellent negotiation skills
• a strong communicator with stakeholder management skills
• fluent in English, both written and spoken
