At Business Area (BA) DOW, Dining, Outdoor & Secondary Storage and Workspaces we touch a lot of different activities and places in peoples life at home. We develop the full range of tables and chairs and cater to important moments like families coming together around a good meal, but also new opportunities like more people working from home or gaming across the home. Come and join our great team, we are now looking for a Range Design Leader for the Outdoor & Secondary Storage business.

Job Description

In this role you will be a part of the Range & Product Design function within the Business Area Dining, Outdoor & Secondary Storage and Workspaces. Together with colleagues in your function you will be at the core of how we fulfill our vision, the creation of a product range fulfilling the needs and dreams of the many people. 


As a Range Design Leader you will be responsible for creating the Range plan, securing the best possible range offer by defining gaps and new consumer needs over time. This plan should contribute to growing the business by creating a complete, relevant and unique offer, at the same time being a cohesive part of the total range offer at IKEA delivering to better homes for the many people. You will base it on IKEA strategies and create the plans in collaboration with your function, cross functional leaders in the Range & Product team as well as colleagues in other businesses. 


Together with all members of the Range & Product team you will create a complete Business plan, create and manage the total project portfolio as well as create the right preconditions for the development teams to succeed in the different projects. 

You will also act as a support to your Range & Product Design collogues during the development of new products.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Continuously develop the range plan
  • Contribute to the development of the HFB plan (Home Furnishing Business)
  • Contribute with functional expertise in operational work with the running range
  • Support the function in the development of new products

Qualifications

You have deep knowledge and proven experience in product development/design and in building and maintaining a Product range portfolio. We believe that you have a University Degree in design or equivalent. You understand how to use the full IKEA value chain, creating preconditions for development that will reach all the dimensions of our Democratic Design. Furthermore you have both a deep and proven knowledge in what good looks like from an IKEA style and identity point of view and also home furnishing and interior design proven knowledge in how to make a better home.


You find motivation in bringing out the best in people, based on a track record of direct or indirect leadership. To create trustful network and relationship you lead through visual communication, and dare to challenge in turning knowledge of life and home into insights and action. You have the interest and ability to coach team members during the product development journey to unleash their own creativity. It is important that you enjoy working with both people and products.
