Our assignment is to lead product development capabilities close to people and partners in strategic locations to deliver IKEA product range with simplicity, speed and low cost. Through Democratic Design we ensure a relevant product range on IKEA markets with a strong IKEA identity and uniqueness.

We are now looking for Product Design Engineer, come to join us!

As Product Design Engineer, you will be responsible to provide technical solutions, also make sure the execution of all engineering related activities to product development are landed, you will be the important role of the product development team, your common goal is to develop the products with speed, low cost, quality, IKEA identity. It covers new product development, product Improvements and running product maintenance.

-Identify and develop technical concepts and solutions-based customer needs and requirements.

-Create technical plan and contribute to product design from a technical perspective, in all dimensions of the democratic design, including production, standard materials and shared solutions.

-Enable collaboration and involvement of engineering competence in the value chain.

-Deploy the latest technical developments connected to industry and categories

-Perform product risk assessment together with relevant competence

-Manage technical issues/risks in a systematic way, facilitate escalation and apply corrective actions.

-Drive product development forward ensuring the optimization, verification, and validation of all technical product aspects before implementation in production.

-Implement IKEA circular and material roadmap

-Contribution to a knowledge-based development by communicating learnings from project execution

-Secure and communicate market and range requirements to necessary partners

-Ensure a complete and relevant product documentation in the development phase, keep product documentation up to date before hand over to HFB, identify compliance gaps in product documentation and take actions accordingly

•Knowledge in mix materials, capability & Experience in production processes, good knowledge in metal /carbon steel/wood/foam would be a plus.

•Experience in production line is highly preferred.

•Product engineering knowledge (CAE tools, prototyping, documentation, and verification methods).

•Experience in project Management (planning, execution, risk management).

•Supply Chain knowledge (cost drivers, handling of goods and raw material).

•Capability to Lead the team to take decisions and move forward.
