  • IKEA Purchasing Services cooperates with furniture and home furnishing manufacturers in Europe and distributes it worldwide. Our task is to find and develop suppliers to produce furniture with perfect design and quality for as many people as possible. There are about 330 of us in Warsaw, a team made of many nationalities

About the role

As an Energy expert you will be accountable and in lead to develop Purchasing Logistic Central Europe to secure that we reach our goal with 100% Renewable energy 2030.

You will be supporting to reach contract for green energy certificates and purchase of green energy from the energy providers.

You will act as a coach who inspire and empower the people to perform at the best of their abilities. You will with your specialist competence work closely with business team and partners from different countries. You will support local teams in project roll out and make sure that learnings and methodologies are implemented in all different projects.

You will report to Sustainability Compliance Manager.

This position could be placed Warsaw, Poland or Prague, Czech Republic

Your main responsibilities are:

  • You are an Energy expert
  • You know and follow the development and changes within energy legislation.
  • Supervise building business cases on construction projects for IKEA supply partners in Central Europe for renewable energy project. (PV, CHP)
  • You will support to secure the tenders together with Business Developer and the local Renewable Energy project team and the business team.
  • Support local team in energy data analysis from IKEA suppliers as well as in mapping of local electricity market.
  • Support local team in running energy-related workshops for IKEA suppliers.
  • Develop and lead strategic projects, activities and/or work streams within a Renewable Electricity for Supply Partners
  • Monitor project status, secure project movement according to plan
  • Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects and line organization
  • Contribute actively to continuous development within establishing and improving common tools, processes, methodologies, and methods used to structure, measure, and document overall project performance.
  • Support negotiations and coordinate actions with all stakeholders to create and secure total project delivery
  • Manage change by supporting stakeholders in preparing receiving organizations, learning and communication activities

Your main capabilities are:

  • You have knowledge about the European Energy market
  • Project management
  • Analytical skill
  • Have experience and track record of change management
  • Lead, mentor and/or coordinate people involved in project across all Inter IKEA Group.
  • Strong in Communication
  • Fluent in English
  • German language is seen as an advantage
  • Negotiation’s skill is seen as advantage

About you

You have passion for managing projects and initiatives through people, enjoy challenging and dynamic assignments in diverse multi-cultural teams and desire to develop IKEA, to lead, coach and implement business change. You have high energy, drive, and commitment to deliver better solutions for IKEA. If you have experiences from sustainability and stakeholder management, its highly appreciated.

Moreover, we also believe that you have a combination of the following knowledge, capabilities, and motivation.

You have strong communication skills, are fluent in English, flexible and able to travel. Our ideal candidate also flourishes in an environment of change and can act with the speed required for this business.  You should have a collaborative approach, be able to work with a variety of stakeholders and be comfortable working in the unknown at times.

You have a relevant degree and with at least 3-5 years of experience in work within the energy sector with a proven track record. You lead people & business by example and bring out the best from project team and organizations you encounter. You identify strongly with our values; you act as an ambassador for them and enjoy creating an environment where the IKEA values are a living reality.
