To secure compliance as well as safe products, from a chemical perspective, we are now looking for a Product Requirement Specialist (PRS) for Chemicals in surface coatings, coverings, and adhesives to the main office for IKEA of Sweden located in Älmhult, Sweden

Job Description

As a PRS with a focus on Chemicals in surface coatings, coverings, and adhesives you will provide specialist support within this area of competence. Your main task will be to develop and support organization on the IKEA chemical requirements for all our surface coatings and coverings, applicable for a big part of the IKEA range. Together with colleagues and stakeholders, you will set the pre-conditions to secure safe products that comply with market requirements and that fulfil or even exceed customer expectations in all our markets.

More specifically you will:

  • Influence current or upcoming regulations for prioritized areas
  • Support the organisation with competence development activities and implementation of product requirements
  • Share your competence, experience, and learnings with colleagues
  • Build and grow an internal and external network needed to succeed in your assignment
  • Monitor regulatory movements, and scientific data related to the specific area
  • Secure that the product requirements are documented and communicated in a clear and simple way

Qualifications

We are looking for you who have knowledge in chemicals in various coatings on wood and metal and as well, have knowledge in or experience from surface coatings and/or the adhesive industry, e.g., industrial wood or metal coating. You have, furthermore, knowledge in basic chemicals legislations (EU REACH, CLP etc). You know how to navigate in a complex international organisation, where you take lead and the responsibility within your assignment. It´s a plus if you have experience from working with requirements or compliance-related tasks. You have a university degree within the area of Chemistry, chemical engineering, toxicology, environmental science or similar.

You are driven by a strong curiosity and have a desire to find better ways together with others, always with the business and our customers in focus. Since we are working in an international environment you need to be strong in communicating in English. Ability to work in a structured way is a pre-condition and of course acting and leading according to the IKEA values.
