Job Description

As a Collaboration Leader in IKEA Marketing & Communication you will contribute in setting the strategic directions for marketing and communication for our collaborations, collaboration relationships and projects. Leading based on people and business insights, the world around us and consumer behaviours.

Together with the team, you will support the collaboration strategy, lead and manage existing collaborations, identify potential collaborations, and explore how these can contribute to the development of the IKEA brand and business. This means, you will research, explore, define, lead and develop strategic collaborations and concepts to support business and communication development, across the IKEA Range & Supply network.

You are part of the development of high-level creativity and execution all through the value chain by initiating and supporting during all phases; from collaboration strategy, product development, development of creative frames, communication - and event assignments, meeting with the markets and the setting of overall activation plans as well as following up. All in order to amplify our story-making throughout the whole project.

You are a strong ambassador of IKEA, and our Tone of Voice and Visual identity.  The job may require some travelling, occasionally frequently.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we believe you have a proven record of high level stakeholder relationship building and management both internally and externally, ideally from the creative industry. You have led creative teams, and are familiar with design and innovation thinking for creative communication. You are curious about the world around us, are open-minded, have an entrepreneurial and problem solving attitude, and are not afraid of leading change. You are a natural leader and a strong team player, both leading and supporting designers, creatives, PR and event teams, and other stakeholders throughout the process. You aim to build strong and trustworthy relationships both inside and outside of IKEA, always with the IKEA spirit and values in mind.

Other things we feel are important;  

  • Genuine interest and proven experience from creative processes and communication concepts. Preferably in a global setting and retail business.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex projects and leading in the unknown.
  • Excellent ability to build and maintain good working relationships across functions and organisations.
  • Great relationship builder, networker and inspiring communicator with high capacity of informal leadership with great listening and influencing capabilities Knowing when to adapt to new situations and when to keep course. .Ability and willingness to work on high creative level, down to operational details when needed
  • Solid IKEA knowledge, comprehension of the IKEA vision of creating better everyday life for the many and understanding of the design and product development process.
  • Connected to and up to date with global trends within retail, design and communication, paired with passion about popular culture and people’s behaviour.
  • Ability to find new ways to approach new target groups through current IKEA channels and new external opportunities
  • Excellent in written and spoken English.
