Job Description

You will lead and be responsible for setting a consistent and strategic approach towards internal and external communication, taking on the right priorities. You will also be responsible for:

  • Enable leaders to connect people to business priorities, engaging the teams on the strategic movements that are key to our goals and ambitions.
  • Collaborate and work together with the Communication Matrix to build on our synergies to create effective communication across the different businesses.
  • Build a strategic brand narrative of what we do and how we work in our supply chain, contributing to position IKEA as a transparent company, values driven and committed to people and the planet.
  • Lead and advise leaders and teams on how to build, protect and strengthen the IKEA brand in the business relations with our suppliers and partners, contributing to the IKEA offer.
  • Be part of the Management Team, drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values where our co-workers are informed, engaged and empowered. In this role you will report to Category Area Manager Metal, Plastic & Float Glass, Maria Blixt.

More in details, the assignment consists of:

  • Oversee the development of a total internal communication landscape, including all communication channels.
  • Coach and support co-workers and managers in communication – locally and globally.
  • Develop the communication competence and enable others to lead with communication and represent IKEA according to IKEA values and IKEA tone of voice.
  • Secure the availability and execution of communication-related training activities.
  • Assess business needs and develop communication solutions.
  • Contribute to the implementation of business strategies, priorities and processes through communication.
  • Frequently handle media cases in cooperation with Media Relations and News Desk team.
  • Contribute to strengthening and positioning the IKEA brand among co-workers, customers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Lead and/or support external communication regarding corporate information and crisis communication.
  • Develop and contribute to a shared communication agenda across IKEA organizations.
  • Contribute and deliver to cross-functional assignments prioritised in the matrix/common action plan.

Qualifications

You have studied communication and have experience from leading communication in a larger global organisation. You shall also have:

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with business and communication planning and execution, and an understanding of how communication supports and increases the impact of a business agenda.
  • Extensive knowledge of how to lead communication by defining, planning, executing and follow-up communication to relevant stakeholders, always keeping co-workers informed, engaged and empowered.
  • Extensive knowledge of how to segment audiences and strengthen key messages to support different audiences needs and situations.
  • Extensive knowledge of co-worker communication and change management, including how to tailor communication effectively to create awareness, engagement and impact, especially involving diverse target groups.
  • Good understanding of the IKEA identity, core values and vision to secure the right representation.
  • Good knowledge of project management.
  • Good knowledge of coaching methodology (tools and techniques).
  • Fluent in written and verbal English.
