Job Description

As Managing Director you will work together with your team and partners to secure IKEA Hotell as a welcoming and inclusive place in a unique IKEA environment where people want to meet, eat and sleep. You will also work to develop a sustainable long-term plan for growth, visitations and profitability. Building organizational capabilities and strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners. IKEA Hotell is on a change journey, going from maintaining to an exciting exploring and developing phase. To be able to meet the future objectives, this role expects to put a lot of effort in building the natural meeting place connecting people to IKEA. This requires a strong leadership and great change management skills.

The Managing Director has the main responsibility of all aspects when it comes to running the hotel and develop the business, in terms of leading large projects impacting IKEA Hotell going forward. This also includes a close dialogue with the board of Värdshuset I Älmhult AB (so called IKEA Hotell). You prepare and follow up on the budget and investments, you have the awareness and understanding of legal frameworks and guidelines.

Qualifications

We are looking for you that already have experience of IKEA business. You will lead the management team and together with them you will have a unique opportunity to develop the overall assignment and business for IKEA Hotell and to deliver results. You like to work on both a strategical and operational level and have the perspective of both Business & People. You are eager to take initiative and driven to achieve results with people. You enjoy developing IKEA Hotell through innovation and by building relationships and networks. As a leader you have strong management and leadership in line with IKEA Culture & Values. You are driven and have the ability to build trustful relationships at all levels, create an open and inclusive environment in your organization. You have the ability to work and lead in change and you inspire and motivate your organization in change process. You have the ability to make things happen by flexibility, speed and simplicity. You communicate in a clear and inspiring way, and you lead by example in your everyday work.

We expect that you have at least five to ten years of leadership experience of developing business and people. We value experience from IKEA combined with hospitality industry and/or retail. You are driven, forward-thinking with a can-do mentality and sees opportunities outside the box. You have an academic degree or equivalent working experience within the customer–centric businesses.
