Job Description

As a Data & Information Modeller, you will support the organisation in achieving good results by using information and data. This you will do in many ways; by supporting business stakeholders in understanding the potential of and what is needed to unlock the power of data and information, by driving data and information model design, implementation, and documentation. Across Core Business Range you will create and share best practices, frameworks and accelerators around data and information analyses and modelling.  

You will collaborate closely with Architecture, Data & Analytics, and peers within Core Business Range, as well as with other practitioners across the larger Inter IKEA organisation (Supply, Franchise, Shared).   

You will support the organisation by leveraging what is required to enable efficient use of data and information to reach the organization’s goals. You are regularly involved in activities and meetings with stakeholders to determine large and small data and information opportunities and support teams regarding data and information analyses and modelling. 

You will: 

  • Lead  data and information model design, implementation, and documentation 

  • Partnering with project teams to perform the information analyses, design and create the corresponding data and information models.   

  • Be a central point of data & information model contact and escalation within Information management network 

  • Optimize and update conceptual, logical & physical data models based on developments within the core business Range in alignment with other teams.  

  • Create transparency and accessibility of existing models for project teams. 

  • Provide technical leadership within the data and information modelling space, fostering a culture of support and collaboration across the data & information community 

  • Drive continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing of data & information models and their value. 

  • Ensure quality and consistency by supporting the use of relevant development techniques, digital frameworks, and best practices.

To be successful in this role, we believe you are a strong Data & Information Modeller who can naturally and effectively communicate, collaborate, network, and build relationships across a complex organisation. You should also be able to make the benefits of information and data analysis and models understood and embraced by both technical and non-technical co-workers. Beyond that if you are comfortable balancing several stakeholders and agendas simultaneously, then this is the role for you. 

Knowledge 

  • Experience with translating business needs in information needs, translating business processes in data models and helping diverse groups of people understand the need for data.  

  • Knowledge (in modern development techniques such as) of Agile ways of working  

  • Significant experience within leading, building and optimizing information and data models across a complex data landscape 

  • Data or Business architecture knowledge 

  • Master's degree or similar/higher qualifications in information systems, economics, mathematics, or related.
