In this role you will be part of the Range & Product Design function within the business area Kitchen, Bathroom & Home Appliances. Together with our Range and Product Design colleagues we lead the development of the product range, focused on our business areas. You will also collaborate on the range direction across the IKEA to truly fulfill the needs and dreams of the many people around the world.

Job Description

You will work in the Range & Product team for our Home Appliance business together with a group of leaders from other functions. Together you will lead, plan and ensure that the range plans deliver our exciting future goals identified in our IKEA range strategies and business development needs, through the entire lifecycle. You will use IKEA range tools, challenge with new working methods and leverage your curiosity, entrepreneurialism & creativity. 

With the Range and Product team you will create and plan for the preconditions required throughout the entire value chain, collectively manage the range delivery plan and create product development briefs and value propositions to guide the product development teams in sourcing and developing better products.

As a Range Design Leader, you will lead the exploration, starting with consumer insights and business opportunities, build the range plan & portfolio for IKEA Home Appliances. The plan & portfolio contributes to growing the business by creating a complete, relevant, and unique offer, at the same time being a cohesive part of the total range at IKEA delivering our ‘Better Homes’ approach to the many people around the world. 

Key responsibilities to highlight: 
•    With a focus on IKEA Home Appliances, develop the range plan and portfolio on a over the nominal 1-to-3-year time horizon. 
•    Contribute to the development of the Home Furnishing Business plan (HFB Plan)
•    Contribute with functional expertise in operational work with the running range
•    Lead with a focus on consumer and trends insights and identify how to deliver to strategic business needs and fulfil the dreams of our customers   
•    Alignment and coaching in and across development projects
•    Cross HFB coordination to create complete better home solutions
•    Work with KBA development teams, innovation teams and product development centers.  

Qualifications

You have deep knowledge and proven experience in building and maintaining a product range & portfolio. Adept at understanding research, identifying insights and growth opportunities. You can create briefs and value propositions for the product development teams and designers to effectively create products in the IKEA’s design and identity styles.

We believe that you have a University Degree in design, product portfolio management or an equivalent. You understand how to use the full value chain to create preconditions for development that will reach all the dimensions of the IKEA Democratic Design approach – Function, Form, Quality, Low Price & Sustainability. Furthermore, you will have home furnishing and interior design knowledge to be able to bring it all together to create better homes for our customers. 

You find motivation in bringing out the best in people, based on a track record of direct or indirect leadership. To create trustful network and relationship you lead through visual communication and dare to challenge. You have the interest and ability to coach team members during the product development journey to unleash their own creativity. It is important that you enjoy working with both people and products.
