Global Master Data Leader | Information Management| Core Business Franchise

  • Full-time

Company Description

You see things a little differently. So do we! At IKEA, we believe that what you value is more important than what your CV says. We offer positions that will challenge your skills and let you grow. Come see things a little differently with us.

Who we are

The world is changing and the IKEA business is changing with it. For IKEA though, one thing will always remain the same ─ our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people.

We will strengthen and develop our competences in order to meet the needs and dreams of the many people around the world. And to be accessible and relevant, wherever and whenever they wish to meet IKEA.

Key responsibilities

As a Global Master Data Leader, you will support the organisation in leveraging information and data. This you will do in many different ways; by supporting business stakeholders in understanding the potential of modern harmonised Master Data Management (MDM) practices and standards, by leading the community of Master Data specialists across the organisation, creating and disseminating best practices, frameworks and accelerators across the organisation. Beyond that, you will also be responsible to lead the central Master Data team and make sure that those resources are deployed where they can create the biggest business value at any moment.

You will collaborate closely with the Data And Analytics & Information Management team as well as with other practitioners across the larger IKEA organisation.

You take your colleagues by the hand and you constructively guide and coach your co-workers in Master Data best practices and methodologies. You are regularly involved in activities and meetings with stakeholders to determine large and small opportunities where MDM could help the organisation to better reach it’s goals and work in a more efficient way.

Leading a complex organisation to realise the benefits that modern MDM can bring is at the heart of the role.

You will:

  • Lead the development and roll-out of MDM practices across a complex organisation
  • Lead a central team of MDM specialists
  • Be a central point of contact and escalation within the IKEA MDM community
  • Drive continuous improvement, collaboration and knowledge sharing of methodologies, tools and materials across the IKEA MDM community.
  • Provide technical leadership for MDM specialists in the organisation, fostering a culture of support and collaboration in the team and across the Data & Analytics organisation
  • Ensure consistency by supporting the use of relevant development techniques, digital frameworks, and best practices.

About you

We are continuously on a journey to develop IKEA by bringing in passionate people who embrace change, dare to question and want to make a difference. You are inspired and energised by the possibilities and opportunities that digital and information technology brings to enable, transform and break new grounds, always with the user’s best interest in mind. You also share our values striving always for simplicity and togetherness.

To be successful in this role, we believe you are a strong MDM leader who is able to naturally and effectively communicate, collaborate, network and build relationships across a complex organisation. You should also be able to make the benefits of effective MDM understood and embraced by both technical and non-technical co-workers. Beyond that if you are comfortable balancing several stakeholders and agendas simultaneously, then this is the role for you.
