Indirect Procurement organisation (Category Area Indirect Procurement) is part of Purchasing Development and has received the task to operate across the Inter IKEA Group companies, between all three core businesses (Franchise / Supply /Range). Our ambition is to secure the best possible prerequisites for Inter IKEA Group to handle the new world, at the same time fulfilling the future needs of partnership and supplier innovations within Digital, Professional Services & Facility Management and Machinery & Equipment.

Category description

The Category Professional Services & Facility Management has 5,500 suppliers delivering business critical services to support the management and development of Inter IKEA in the fields of

  • HR services, including contingent workforce, consultancy, payrolling, compensation and benefits, education and learning
  • Product, technology and material development services, including testing, laboratory, research, certification and engineering services
  • Marketing and communication services, including market research, translation, and communication content creation
  • Corporate management and development services, including management consultancy, insurance and financial services
  • Meet and travel services, including airlines, hotels, venues and parcel delivery services
  • Cleaning and waste handling Services
  • Facility Services & Supplies, Security and Courier services

The sites we supply, as well as our supplier base, has an international scope with the point of gravity in Europe. Job Description

As a Business Developer, you will be the main point of entry for our internal stakeholders and the suppliers globally. Your assignment is to secure precondition for long term business development through establishing the future supplier landscape and total cost of ownership approach.

This role delivers through Action planning excellent performance in running operations and in building professional long-term business development. The Business Developer identifies and acts on new purchasing possibilities in order to secure an optimal sourcing set-up.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop partnership with internal stakeholders – engage and collaborate with the internal stakeholders on the tactical / strategical tasks, adding value by having IKEA holistic approach.
  • Develop and manage partnership with suppliers – You develop and manage the supplier base. Together with the suppliers, you create, implement, and follow-up the action plans, having in mind the compliance, sustainability and total cost approach.
  • Develop entrepreneurial approach - You have the courage to question existing solutions and think in unconventional ways. To move forward, you will collaborate with the many and navigate in the unknown.

Qualifications

You are passionate about leading in change and motivated to create long-term relationships and collaboration with our internal stakeholders and suppliers as partners. You want to grow together with us to become more efficient and contribute to affordability and sustainability agenda within indirect procurement.

To succeed in this role we wish that you have:

  • Expertise knowledge within the procurement area
  • Passion for business and the end-goal – Both will come in handy when negotiating with suppliers, where you are to be strict but fair. A solution-oriented person, concentrating on developing the business and problem solving in the daily operations.
  • The art of dealing with people – empathy and great communication skills to coordinate within your network.
  • Change management skills - Act upon fast pace changing and demanding environment.
  • Analytical skills - working with numbers, negotiating prices, or setting priorities for your work, in a usually high paced and demanding environment.
  • You know economics and finance – Understanding of company financials: cash flow, P&L, income statements and cost breakdowns.
  • An interest in area of expertise and discovering the latest technologies and trends. Favourably, you have a great passion about “the new things”
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken. You are comfortable in presenting and engaging with people in different business constellations.
