Job Description

As a Product Requirement Engineer (PRE) you are a true global player. Product requirements, both regulatory & market unique, vary per country and change all the time, so staying on the ball is quite a challenge. In this role your focus area is on product development for wireless sound and audio products, mainly with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology. Your main tasks will be to define and implement requirements in development projects for our sound range (products like SYMFONISK, ENEBY, VAPPEBY etc), and following up that the requirements is verified and implemented in the correct way. At the end of the day, it is you who make sure that our products meet all the legal standards and the customer specific prerequisites, in other words secure that our products are compliant in all our markets. A big deal if you ask us!  

On a regular day in the role as a PRE you will: 

  • Create and maintain the product documentation.
  • Secure compliance is met successfully before product launch 
  • Create and choose new test methods for product validation 
  • Show good insight of IKEA specifications, standards and test methods and keep yourself updated on the latest relevant changes
  • And of course, have a lot of fun! 

Qualifications

We are looking for a Product Requirement Engineer with passion for Audio & Sound, as well as having solid knowledge about product development and the importance of securing products are made in a compliant way. You have experience from creating innovative solutions and a great user experience with audio products for consumers. You know how to work in a structured way in a dynamic environment, finding your way forward in a persistent and thorough manner. Furthermore, you are a true solution-oriented team player, who is good at building trustful relationships. You have high entrepreneurial drive, you stretch boundaries and dare to challenge what already exists, always with the aim of developing better products and solutions that exceed our customers’ expectations. 

To do great in this role, we’d like to see that you:

  • Have relevant experience in audio or acoustics engineering.
  • Have worked with requirement management & handling in PLM system
  • Can create and define requirements for external development suppliers
  • Have knowledge in audio electronics (Amplifiers, DSP, Bluetooth, Wifi, DRC, DEQ, battery technologies etc)
  • Have knowledge in audio measurements (SPL, Frequency & Impulse response, THD, etc)
  • Have knowledge in product compliance (CE, CB, LVD, RED, IEC62368-1, etc)
