We are now looking for a young potential who can learn and develop as a trainee with the ambition to step into the role as Product Design Developer within a year.

The Product Design developer is responsible for: 

  • Leading design development of better products delivering to all 5 dimensions of Democratic design being the specialist in form and function always starting with the price tag
  • Leading content of the product development project with both vision and action
  • Leading IKEA Product Design from start to end
  • Leading visualisation and communication of the ideas and product movements before and during the development process (mood boards, drawings, pictures, prototypes)
  • Securing IKEA unique identity and Democratic Design in each and every product
  • Transforming knowledge in life at home to insights into actions on product level
  • Co-creating with development partners throughout total value chain
  • being applicable use existing platforms, shared solutions, standard colours and materials to design for lowest price
  • Identifying and enabling stories in the product design development to be used in communication

In this trainee position you will learn and develop to be a Product Design Developer, you will learn how to balancing all relevant input for optimal Democratic Design and to strengthen the IKEA identity.

You will learn how to develop and engage a network of relevant competencies and stakeholders to get the best possible products, how to create insights about life at home and develop into products. You will be part of a team that will together develop on the factory floor.

We are looking for a young potential talent with strong communicating skills and that has the ability to visualize concepts and ideas. You have a great passion and interest in trends/movement, life at home and customer needs and what is in the market. This also touches upon materials, product construction and production etc.

We see that you have a university degree in design.

Entrepreneurial mind set is a must! You thrive on change and for acting in a dynamic workplace. Our corporate language is English, so fluency both verbally and in writing is required.
