The establishment of IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (ISMY) is to support/drive improvement in the current and future Logistics/Distribution Network within Asia Pacific. The organization will supply full range of IKEA products from High Flow and Low Flow goods to South East Asia market including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australian, India and future new markets within the region.

We are strategically located at Port Klang, near Kuala Lumpur to cater for an efficient goods flow with minimum of lead time for the inbound flow

About the job

Responsible for the overall functionality, performance and availability of the Automation systems installed in the IKEA Distribution Centre located in Port Klang, Malaysia.

Key Assignments:

  • Secure the delivery, on a day to day basis, the functionality of the logistics automation systems.
  • Responsible for the mechanical/electrical performance and troubleshooting of the automated equipment’s in the unit.
  • Acting as a key escalation point and being the focal point for all automation related topics.
  • Coordinate all maintenance activities, planned repairs, and reactive repairs of the automated equipment.
  • Develop and ensure the local operations team is trained with user basic knowledge.
  • Diagnose mechanical and/or electrical potential problems and propose corrective actions.
  • Produce monthly detailed reports
  • Drive and lead improvement projects
  • Responsible for spare part management and stock.
  • Provide broad based electrical, mechanical, and software technical ability along with a right first-time mentality and a proactive approach to identifying ways to improve the site’s performance.

 

Qualifications

About you

  • You have higher education degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field or equivalent experience with Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems.
  • You worked in an automated warehouse environment for at least 3 years
  • You are seen as an advance user in PLC and controlling systems.
  • You are familiar with safe work practices in warehousing and logistic units
  • You have strong analytical skills and capable of generating thorough and comprehensive service reports with computer skills including MS Office.
  • You able to read and utilize mechanical & electrical schematics to assist in troubleshooting and resolution of mechanical and electronic components.
  • You can multi-task, prioritize workloads and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • You have strong relationship-building and communication skills and are a strong team player.
  • You able to drive and implement change
  • You have knowledge in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC)
  • You have knowledge in Warehouse Controlling Systems and/or
  • You are good in Material Flow Control software’s
  • You have knowledge and experience in Integration solutions with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • You able to work with a remote Helpdesk Support
  • You willing to on shift, 6 days per week 

Additional Information

This assignment will be based at IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd  Distribution Centre in Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Malaysia.
