Category Area Food together with internal and external partners, provides the food sold and served in all IKEA Restaurants, Bistro´s, Swedish Food Markets which 500 million guests are enjoying in 49 markets. In Category Area Food, we lead and execute the global purchasing agenda, material direction, responsible sourcing and the quality compliance agenda for the food range in IKEA. Today we are over 180 colleagues who work globally while being located across Europe, North America, Asia and other regions in order to be close to our supplier partners. 

We are now looking to recruit a Category Area Logistics Manager to join our exciting food journey! As a Category Area Logistics Manager you will be a key contributor by leading the logistics development of our ambitious plans towards the future.

Within Category Area Food, you will be responsible to establish the supplier planning and capacity processes, combining the best practices of range and supply with the best practices of food, with key contribution to total cost-out and availability results.

Job Description

Together with the Category Management Team, you will contribute with the development and implementation of Category plans, setting logistics priorities and building alignment with other partners in the value chain in order to reach common goals and priorities. You will support the Category Managers with an end to end execution of their plans. Your key responsibilities also include leading supplier development activities from a logistics perspective and support common and improved ways of working. Being an active member of the global Purchasing Development Logistics matrix allows you to contribute to the global logistics development in IKEA. 

You will be direct manager of the Category Logistics Leaders as well as leading the CA matrix for all Supply Planners, contributing to secure competent and high performing coworkers, keeping them inspired and empowered to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously working with development in their assignments.  You will have a unique opportunity to engage with different cultures in our diverse team, and travelling is expected as part of the role. 

Qualifications

To be successful in this role we believe that you have:

  • A solid logistics experience, you lead by example and have the ability to bring out the best in your people and organisation you encounter
  • A university degree in a relevant area or equivalent experience from leading and developing people from a matrix perspective within a global organisation
  • Solid knowledge of customers, suppliers, materials, production flow, capacity planning and supply chain cost drivers
  • Experience of different logistics tools within planning and value chain
  • Ability to create network and to navigate multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Inspire and empower team and co-workers to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments
  • As a person you bring energy, drive and commitment to deliver better products for the many people
  • You enjoy working on a strategic level while being able to zoom in to operational/tactical levels.
  • You constantly look for synergies and strive to bring people to achieve better together
  • You lead business with a holistic view, always acting with the Customer, Supplier, Total IKEA and Total Cost Development in mind
  • It is an advantage if you understand the IKEA Planning Concept and Supply Chain, or IKEA Food Supply Chain as it currently operates. We count on that you have supply chain experience from various roles in or outside of IKEA
  • Your eagerness to build trust and partnership to reach common goals is significant
