IKEA of Sweden AB is authorized to be responsible for the development process of the IKEA Product Range. As such, it has assigned part of the development activities to Development Centres in different parts of the world, however with continued full control over its responsibilities.  

Located in Gurgaon/Delhi, Development Centre South Asia is affiliated to IKEA of Sweden, and takes the responsibility to lead product development & adaptation capabilities close to people and partners in strategic locations to deliver IKEA product range with simplicity, speed and low cost. By leveraging the strengths of our partners in these regions and the closeness to consumers on the market through co-creation, we can ensure a relevant product range on IKEA markets through Democratic Design, IKEA identity and uniqueness.                                                       

We are a development unit focusing on product development and communication in lean and efficient ways. We are now we are looking for more members of the team, maybe you are one of them?

We are looking for someone with passion and capability to:

•Lead execution of technical deliverables to drive lower cost and to boost speed and effectiveness.

•Identify and develop technical concepts and solutions based on customer needs and requirements.

•Create technical plan and contribute to product design from a technical perspective, in all dimensions of the democratic design, including production, shared and standard solutions.

•Enable collaboration and involvement of engineering competences in the value chain.

•Manage technical project issues/risks in a systematic way, facilitate escalation and apply corrective actions.

•Drive the product development forward ensuring the optimization, verification and validation of all technical product aspects before implementation in production.

•Enable and secure development partners and suppliers contribution to the product development from a technical perspective.

•Perform product risk assessments together with relevant competences.

•Host effective engineering team meetings and workshops and connect daily tasks to project goals, to secure that the engineering team remains focused and has the pre-conditions to execute the technical deliverables.

•Implement the IKEA circular and material roadmaps

•Execute and/or contribute to operational activities within product development, product improvements and running range.

•Someone  experience with Metal or Polymer articles developments or both, Prefer to have some related to home furnishing or packaging)

•Must have a University degree in Engineering(Chemical/Metallurgy)
