We are now looking for a Communication Manager to join our Steering & Support Team.
A thoroughly passionate communicator with an interest in leadership, who can use communication to build understanding, engagement and ambassadorship of what IKEA stands for, it’s heading and why, among co-workers, partners, stakeholders and across the IKEA network. Steering & Support in IKEA of Sweden AB hosts several enabling functions such as Finance & Administration, Business Steering, PMO, Product Risk & Compliance, Workplace Operations, Public Affairs and Legal. Steering & Support provides insights to different parts of the range organisation making the right business decisions and by the services provided connected to our workplace gives us the right preconditions to thrive and deliver at work.

Job Description

As Communication Manager you will lead, enable and develop a holistic communication within and from the Steering & Support function which helps position the unit/area/function business within Core Business Range & Core Business Supply in order to strengthen the IKEA brand.

  • Lead development and implementation of Steering & Supports overall strategic and tactical communication plan and manage the internal communication structure and flow within the function.
  • Create clear communication briefs to enable efficient and effective creation, and follow up of communication needs and goals.
  • Be a strategic and tactical partner to Steering & Support management team to define and enable their communication needs and goals
  • Coach, advice and support the leaders in scope to plan and deliver the most effective, appropriate communication as well as to strengthen their leadership through communication
  • Identify and prepare for reactive external communication to avoid brand risk, by being a partner and advisor to the Range & Supply Media relations team.
  • To review how the future Steering & Support Communication set-up will look like will be one of your first tasks when you step into the role

Qualifications

The Steering & Support Communication Manager is a senior leadership position within IKEA of Sweden. This means that this is a challenging and rewarding position with an impact on the many people. You are of course motivated by and grounded in and always lead from IKEA values. 
Knowledge

  • IKEA business, process and organization;  Knowledge of IKEA business model, business plan process, strategic landscape and IKEA ways of working. The IKEA concept, value chain and brand objectives
  • Strategic communication competence: Extensive knowledge of leading and creating communication plans based on business direction. Extensive experience in translating messages, creating clarity and inspiration from a complex context. Up to date on communication trends and tools.
  • Brand management: Strong knowledge of how communication affects stakeholder perception of the IKEA brand. Capability to judge and draft messaging for external communication.
  • Internal communication & change management; Extensive knowledge of internal communication and change management, including how to tailor communication effectively to create awareness, engagement and impact, especially involving diverse target groups.
  • Project management: Basic knowledge of project management and capability to achieve desired outcomes
