In Purchasing Development, our assignment goes hand in hand with the IKEA Business Idea, created 75 years ago, as we are responsible to produce the wide range of well-designed, functional home furnishing products at prices so low that as many people as possible will be able to afford them. ​Affordability, accessibility, sustainability and quality are our main priorities.​ We develop and execute sourcing strategies and thus meet the supply markets/industries in 6 different categories. We are a true global organisation with 1300 co-workers placed in 27 different locations, close to the suppliers and the market. The business development teams work close together with both suppliers and Product Development.

Energy is one of the focus areas in IKEA sustainability strategy to deliver to Climate positive agenda. By 2030, we aim to be 100% powered by renewable energy across the entire IKEA value chain. We are now looking for Energy Leader who has competence, knowledge and capabilities to lead this agenda in Purchasing development to enable us to deliver to our goals.

Job Description

Your assignment is to lead the energy agenda across Purchasing development (all Category Areas) to deliver to IKEA 100% renewable energy goal until 2030 with cost efficient solutions.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Identify the GAPs and address them to relevant stakeholders (internal and external) to find solutions.
  • Lead and /or contribute to the identified projects that enable movement towards renewable energy across different industries by finding new solutions, innovations.
  • Support categories with identification of actions needed to be taken
  • Secure that all activities are ongoing and new ones contribute to the totality and are executed
  • Monitor and report on the progress
  • Competence development in organisation needed to make a movement
  • Lead internal and external forums related to energy

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, we believe you are coming with experience of leading in a complex environment on a global level. You have the ability to develop tactics to deliver to the strategic goals. You are capable to work with details if topics requires. You are structured, holistic, and methodical. You are also a strong communicator and a strong relationship builder. With your creativity and a “can do” attitude, you strive to find new and better ways, always keeping the final cost on your mind.

Engineering background is preferred.
