Job Description

The purpose of the sustainability work at IKEA franchisor, is to make sustainability as an integrated part of the IKEA Concept and ensure its successful implementation in new and existing markets.

Our assignment within IKEA Expansion is to enable establishment of new customer meeting points. The assignment consists of three parts:

  • Manage and provide a menu of physical and digital customer meeting points.
  • Develop, test and provide principles and solutions in the field of design and architecture.
  • Secure consistency of the IKEA Brand and enable successful implementation by providing relevant design services in establishments and rebuilds of Customer Meeting points.

We cooperate with our IKEA franchisees in 53 countries all over the world.

We are now looking for a sustainability specialist to develop and integrate sustainability in our exciting assignment having the opportunity to create real impact for the many people in many markets.

Job description

As a sustainability specialist within Customer Meeting Points (CMP) you create and lead the sustainability agenda for the design and establishment of CMP:s from an IKEA Concept perspective, based on the IKEA sustainability strategy.

 

In this role you will contribute to an inclusive circular and climate positive design of IKEA customer meeting points by, for example:

  • Provide sustainability expertise and develop our framework and design criteria.
  • Develop sustainable design principles and recommendations.
  • Compile and share sustainability experience and knowledge.
  • Inspire, engage and provide clarity to identified key stakeholders to deliver to agreed priorities.
  • Contribute with sustainability specialist know-how in establishment projects.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainability competence in IKEA in cooperation with relevant stakeholders both within IKEA franchisees, IKEA organisations and externally.
  • Be the representative of the conceptual CMP design perspective in sustainability forums and networks such as part of the CBF sustainability matrix and contribute in IKEA Market sustainability network.

Qualification

You are a down-to-earth team player who is driven by togetherness, simplicity and common sense and eager to take initiatives and achieve results together with others. Not afraid to try new things and develop new skills and areas as we go along.

 

We believe that you have a combination of the following knowledge, capabilities and background:

  • In-depth knowledge of sustainability in the field of architecture, construction and/or urban design. 
  • Experience of establishment processes.
  • Proven track record of leading and delivering sustainability projects, independently as well as with a team.
  • Preferable having a certification in a sustainability system.
  • Curious, openminded and confident to work in the unknown.
  • Capability to engage and build trustful relationships.
  • Capability to communicate, explain and motivate in a simple way.
  • Strong verbal and written English language skills.
