- Employees can work remotely
IKEA has an ambition to inspire and enable more than 1 billion people to live a better everyday life within the limits of the planet.
We want to offer affordable and accessible solutions for healthy and sustainable living through our home furnishing offer, knowledge and ideas meeting all customer touch points.
In this movement we will take virgin fossil out of our products and replace them with new better materials with a lower footprint, creating the menu of materials for the future.
To enable this movement, we are looking for students who would like to map and compare the value chain and life cycle of one specific product family, evaluating the original version and materials when compared to the new version.
This analysis should include sourcing set-ups, material attributes, climate impact, and recommendations for further improvements.
This is predominately a desktop study where the majority of the thesis will be made remotely.
Where possible we bring students to IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult to meet and experience the head office. Should be possibility arise, we may also connect to physical production set-ups enabling in person visits. This will be subject to travel and meet recommendations.
You MUST have a passion and curiosity for creating a better everyday life for people and planet.
We are open to all backgrounds. This thesis could be most interesting for those studying product design, sustainability, supply chain development.
Candidates should have the ability to gather and assess a wide variety of information then simplify and create conclusions and recommendations.
