Master Thesis, Effective Communication and enabling good decisions
- Älmhult, Sweden
- Employees can work remotely
IKEA has an ambition to inspire and enable more than 1 billion people to live a better everyday life within the limits of the planet.
We want to offer affordable and accessible solutions for healthy and sustainable living through our home furnishing offer, knowledge and ideas meeting all customer touch points.
In this movement we will take virgin fossil out of our products and replace them with new better materials with a lower footprint, creating the menu of materials for the future.
To enable this movement, we are looking for students who would like to develop a communication tool that will visualize the future material smorgasbord, support our product development teams to choose the right material for the right product. We have examples to inspire in this, but we are always open to new and better ideas!
The tool or guide should be covering all materials led within Textile Furnishings Category Area: Cotton, Viscose, Lyocell, Hemp, Jute, Linen, Leather, Polyester, Polypropylene, Down and Feather, Foam, Wool.
It should include key material information including cost, climate impact, suitable applications, etc, and be simple to read and easy to share with all stakeholders internally. It should work as a guide for material choice, where the main target group is the product development teams.
This is predominately a desk top exercise where the majority of the thesis will be made remotely. Where possible we bring students to IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult to meet and experience the head office. This will be subject to travel and meet recommendations.
You MUST have a passion and curiosity for creating a better everyday life for people and planet.
We are open to all backgrounds, which could be most interesting for those studying product design, sustainability, communication, marketing.
Candidates should have the ability to gather and assess a wide variety of information then simplify it into a user-friendly tool. Multi-stakeholder connections will be needed so strong communication in English is required.
