Job Description

As Customer Meeting Points Design Manager, you:

  • Lead and work closely together with peers across the totality of Core Business Franchise and across IKEA to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant IKEA franchise offer.
  • Develop and implement Business Plan directions connected to IKEA Customer Meeting Points. 
  • Secure the implementation and follow up of the IKEA Concept in physical meeting points (from a building construction and retail design perspective).
  • Hold together the portfolio of projects from a format perspective in the design phase and enable right service offer.
  • Secure the integration of our democratic design principles in everything we do and create preconditions for commercial success. 
  • Contribute to the development of frameworks (consisting of requirements, principles and guidelines) for customer meeting points.
  • Contribute to define success criteria’s of assigned customer meeting points in close cooperation with CMP development Manager and CMP menu leader.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous update of the franchise offer for the assigned customer meeting points e.g. processes, methods, tools, solutions, service, support and examples.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of conceptualized assigned customer meeting points and enable the development of new customer meeting points with preconditions for a relevant mix of components/modules.
  • Lead, inspire and empower your team to perform to the best of their abilities and continuously develop in their assignments.
  • Lead, support and enable competence development to secure a competent, diverse and high performing team with succession plans.
  • Responsible for recruitment and onboarding process.
  • Responsible for performance management and retention.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the IKEA Range Strategy, the IKEA Concept, the IKEA vision and business idea, IKEA culture & values, the IKEA business model and how we create unique business advantages.
  • knowledge about Retail Design, retail architecture and IKEA Customer meeting points.
  • Knowledge of digital integration and its impact on customer experience and physical retail environment.
  •  knowledge about expansion/establishment process.
  • Ability to create, develop and implement strategic business plans with key stakeholders in the IKEA value chain and with external partners.
  • Senior leadership with the ability to make complex tasks and processes understood and actionable as capability to analyze, draw conclusions and act on them with a holistic business understanding and systemic approach.
  • Ability to facilitate others, enabling continuous and relevant concept development. 
  • Capability to navigate and lead in a complex, unknown and fast-changing environment. This is valid capability to build and engage in trustful and sustainable relationships with stakeholders, business partners and IKEA franchisees.
  • Good understanding of how global trends and developments can impact IKEA.
  •  A University degree or similar and/or a minimum 10 years of experience from an international environment with a minimum of 5 years with leadership responsibility in a matrix organization.
  • An understanding and experience of IKEA business throughout the value chain, and the prerequisites for business success with previous experience from development of retail operations. 
  • Previous project leading experience and experience of steering several parallel projects as experience from leading and managing leaders/co-workers across functions and organizations.
