In IKEA we work together across the value chain to be affordable and accessible for many more of the many people with our fantastic product range. At IKEA of Sweden we are responsible to develop and supply the IKEA product range offer.  This is done in the different Home Furnishing Businesses where the Sales team is responsible to secure the preconditions for the IKEA retailers to create a great meeting with the customers. The Project Leader role sits in the Business Development Office team where we work with the Sales development portfolio, delivering different assignments supporting the home furnishing businesses with efficient and effective ways of working, aiming to ensure that the customers successfully meet the IKEA range offer in all of our touch-points all over the world.

Job Description

As a Project Leader in the Business Development Office team you are responsible to lead and manage explorations, pre-studies and projects within the scope of the Sales development portfolio. The projects are assigned by an Orderer; the project leader reports to the project steering group and delivers the result to one or many receiving organisations – all within agreed scope, time, budget and with expected quality.

To do this you will work in close collaboration with stakeholders from across the entire IKEA network to secure the delivery of new and innovative solutions between the Home Furnishing Businesses and IKEA Retail markets.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the project within set frames for scope, time and budget agreed with steering group.
  • Plan and structure project according to set IKEA project methodology.
  • Monitor and control project work, including managing the dependencies and interfaces within the project and between the project and the line organisation.
  • Define and control the project scope, create a project time-schedule including follow up on progress and also budget, forecast and control the actual project costs.
  • Create a communication plan that secures the right information is communicated to stakeholders.
  • Organize, lead and manage people from different units and cultures.
  • Identify, mitigate, monitor and control risks.
  • Perform quality management according to requirements and expectations.
  • Ensure that receiving organisations are prepared through organizational change management like securing sponsorship, building the relevant and needed relations.
  • Work as a business partner.
  • Act as role model leading by example and promoting the IKEA Values and Culture.

Qualifications

You are a natural and enthusiastic problem solver with a very high level of competence in methodology driven project management and a proven track record of delivering projects in a global environment. You have excellent leadership capabilities and the ability to nurture enthusiasm, willpower and co-creation, growing the IKEA spirit. You are curious to know more about people's life at home and motivated by creating a great customer experience in all meeting points. You have excellent ability to lead through others, embracing thriftiness, simplicity, common sense and, above all, a “get-it-done” attitude. You have excellent ability to lead in the unknown, in a fast-changing environment being open to doing things differently. You have the ability to combine working on a strategic level with acting on an operation/tactical level. You are an excellent communicator with the ability to inspire others and express yourself clearly. You have good systemic awareness with the ability to see the whole picture, building relationships and interacting with relevant parts in the IKEA network.

In this role you will report to the Business Development Office Manager in Sales, IKEA of Sweden and be a part of the Business Development Office team.
