Company Description

You see things a little differently. So do we! We believe that what you value is more important than what your CV says. We offer positions that will challenge your skills and let you grow. Come see things a little differently with us.

Who we are

The world is changing and the IKEA business is changing with it. For IKEA though, one thing will always remain the same ─ our vision to create a better everyday life for the many people.

We will strengthen and develop our competences in order to meet the needs and dreams of the many people around the world. And to be accessible and relevant, wherever and whenever they wish to meet IKEA.

About us

Inter IKEA Systems (Core Business Franchise) owns the IKEA Concept and is the worldwide IKEA franchisor. We are specifically responsible for the IKEA strategic framework, ensuring the IKEA Concept is updated, relevant, implemented and followed-up – together with all IKEA trademark users.

How do we do this? By enabling people across the IKEA value chain, and creating unique content to develop the IKEA business. Here are some examples of our different assignments.

  • We develop solutions that will ensure a unique and successful meeting with IKEA customers.
  • We lead the work around when and how IKEA expands in the world, enabling one common way of working with high impact at a low cost.
  • We create the preconditions to strengthen the IKEA Culture and develop the right competence to meet customer and business needs.

An important part of our success is our unique culture and open working environment. Together, we create a workplace where everyone feels free to be themselves – to experiment, try new ways, and dare to ask, “What if…?” We believe in everyday personal growth and offer the opportunity to develop your career globally.

With our renewed business idea, the appetite for insight has never been greater! The IKEA Consumer and Market Insight team is in high demand to bring the outside-in perspective needed to reach more people, making great design available to everyone.

ICMI is a global team and has the assignment to contribute to IKEA people, making well-founded decisions based on actionable and timely insight. This means creating Insight solutions fueled by data and tailored to different business needs. These solutions are currently divided into Customer Experience Insight, Strategy & Market Insight, and Brand & Range Insight. Each of these three areas develops and operates insight solutions to IKEA people across our value chain.

Job Description

Are you someone who likes to do things differently and wants to be part of a force for positive change for people and the environment?

We’re looking for a curious domain architect to join us in creating solutions for a better tomorrow. You’ll be shaping the architecture of Consumer and Market Insight solutions that help shape IKEA’s experiences, strategy and plans. These solutions cover:

  • How People Live
  • How People Shop
  • Brand and Range Performance
  • Customer Experience
  • Strategic Market Insight
  • Competitor Insight

About the role

As the Domain Architect, you will help to build the new foundations of IKEA.

The Domain Architect plays a critical role within the digital transformation that IKEA is currently undergoing, so there is no more exciting time to join us than now. You will:

  • Design and specify the architecture blueprint for the Consumer and Market Insight domain (including the domain’s applications, data, and integration)
  • Be responsible for the domain's architecture, ensuring that technical and non-technical components work together in the product landscape to deliver the customer needs.
  • Secure alignment with the digital technology landscape and architectural principles
  • Steer the technical excellence of the applications and consistency with relevant digital frameworks, best practices, and standards.
  • Coach and enable other team members to deliver best-in-class products.
  • Ensure reusability of solution components outside the assigned solution and area and contribute to relevant tech communities across IKEA.
  • Work closely with technical leads, product owners, data engineers, data scientists, or architects across IKEA.

Qualifications

About you

If you want to be part of a curious, creative environment that’s open to taking risks, this may be your new home.

As a Domain Architect, you have a good knowledge of architecture frameworks and aspects as well as architecture methods and tools like TOGAF and ArchiMate. You will be equipped with experience designing and maintaining digital architecture on a solution level (preferably cloud-based).

Ideally, you have an engineering background in hands-on coding with a track record of developing, maintaining, and operating digital analytics products. That way, you’ll bring your know-how across the whole DevOps lifecycle, including ETL, visualization, and service management.

You will apply your excellent understanding of cloud platforms (e.g., MS Azure) and advanced analytics environments (e.g., Databricks) and bring your top-notch programming (e.g. Python), data modelling and data visualization knowledge to the table. Ideally, you will have experience in development, integration, deployment (CI/CD) and test automation and will be comfortable in a product-oriented, Agile environment.

We see leadership as an action, not a position. We’re looking for a hands-on, creative team player who can lead by example while finding simple solutions to complex problems—someone who can share their competence as well as mentor and lead others.
