“Safer life at home” is a two-year strategic initiative that serves as the umbrella for other initiatives and activities in IKEA to accelerate how we work with product safety, taking the lead towards a safer life at home for our customers. “Safer Life at home” is driven from IKEA of Sweden in Älmhult. We are a small group of dedicated co-workers that work close and together with many different stakeholders across the whole IKEA value chain to make it happen.

We are now looking for a Communication leader, Safer Life at Home.

Job Description

As Communication Leader you will lead and enable communication from a product safety and safer life at home perspective, within Range and to stakeholders across IKEA. Be responsible for the strategy and implementation of business-driven communication to support the leadership in achieving its business and people objectives. Lead and create effective communication both internally and externally, securing the communication process by defining, planning, executing and following up communication to relevant stakeholders.

Assignment specifics:

  • Drive an open and sharing climate, being a role model of the IKEA values where our co-workers are informed, engaged and empowered. 
  • Continue to develop, finalise and implement the new communication platform for a safer life at home. 
  • Embed the key messages around a safer life at home throughout internal and external communication channels.  
  • Support internal communication around the safer life at home project, to empower and engage co-workers to trigger ambassadorship and nurture a strong safety culture. This includes e.g. setting-up, expanding and transferring to the line a safer life at home information reference point on intranet and toolbox.
  • Coach and support Communication leaders in focus areas for a safer life at home.

Note that this is a temporary position to August 31, 2022

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, we believe you know how the IKEA franchise system works, especially in bringing product and range information from IKEA of Sweden to consumers via IKEA Retailers.  You have knowledge and understand the internal and external communication landscape across IKEA. You can be both strategic, tactical and operations and deliver a sustainable and scalable communication to create a continuously flow of knowledge transfer
Furthermore, you have

  • Extensive knowledge of how to lead communication by defining, planning, executing and follow-up communication to relevant stakeholders, always keeping co-workers informed, engaged and empowered. 
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of working with business and communication planning and execution, and an understanding of how communication supports and increases the impact of a business agenda. 
  • Extensive knowledge of how to segment audiences and strengthen key messages to support different audiences needs and situations. 
  • Extensive knowledge of co-worker communication and change management, including how to tailor communication effectively to create awareness, engagement and impact, especially involving diverse target groups. 

You are fluent in both spoken and written English.
