We are looking for a Material & Innovation Developer to our great team of Engineers. The main focus of your work will be to initiate and lead the development and improvement of existing materials and technologies towards better performance, durability, cost effectiveness and sustainability of products. By leading and supporting in projects for development of material and innovations, you will be part of finding new paper materials, technologies and applications.

Some of the tasks will be: 

  • Together with the Manager for Raw Material be the network partner in the Material & Innovation Matrix
  • Secure an efficient transformation of paper materials and technologies for better solutions in the product development process
  • Show the way forward when it comes to knowledge sharing, as well as lead material specific trainings

In other words – you will help us move our part of the agenda for better solutions when it comes to material and technologies. It could also be that you will proactively contribute to the product development process by supporting our product development organisation, purchasing teams from IKEA of Sweden, IKEA Communications and other parts of your home organisation, with identification and deployments of potentials. And of course – you will have a lot of fun! 

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a kind of a curious scout, who know how to find your way forward in the unknown and you know a lot about paper as a material!  You have solid knowledge and experience in leading material and technical development projects. Probably you have long work experience from development of several parts of product value chains, as well as high awareness of current and future needs of materials. Furthermore, you have experience from strategic development and international business, preferably in the consumer goods sector. Ideally you have a university degree within engineering in a relevant field. As a person you are down to earth, pragmatic solution orientated with a sparkling curiosity that will lead you forward. IKEA is a truly global environment, with colleagues from all over the world and therefore you need to speak and write in English. You have an ability to communicate clearly and are open minded, and how to build relations. You have an ability to communicate clearly with an open mindset and how to build relations with stakeholders and pears, internal as well as external. You know how to make it happen!
