Job Description

Within the IKEA Expansion, Customer meeting points we are now looking for a communication specialist to our assignment which is to enable establishment of new Customer Meeting points (IKEA Store and places where customer meets IKEA) in an relevant and consistent way. 

The assignment of us is to: 

  • Manage and provide a menu of physical and digital customer meeting points 

  • Develop, test and provide principles and solutions in the field of design and architecture.  

  • Secure consistency of the IKEA Brand and enable successful implementation by providing relevant design services in establishments and rebuilds of Customer Meeting points 

We cooperate with our IKEA franchisees in 53 countries all over the world. We work in a multicultural environment, were we are comfortable using English (spoken and written) to communicate.   

Qualifications

As a Communication specialist within Customer Meeting Point department, you will produce inspiring and engaging communication to share our offer with our IKEA retailers working with establishments of new Customer Meeting Points globally.  

This is a creative and hands on role, where the main focus of the role is to sharpen and clarify all our communication towards our IKEA retailers. This means both creating communication plans to enable IKEA retailer to expand with latest developed Concepts and to sharpen all our design deliveries and approvals so it is easy for IKEA retailer to understand and take decision. 

Some of your tasks: 

  • Be a strategic, tactical and operational communication partner to colleagues across the business, securing that our communication work supports our common business priorities. 

  • Coach and support colleagues to lead through communication; this includes support with planning, developing and delivering communication in the most effective, engaging, inspiring and relevant way.  

  • Developing the channels used to reach and interact with our IKEA colleagues, especially our digital channels such as IKEA Home (intranet) and IKEA Toolbox (extranet) in order to make a stronger impact. 

  • Review and secure consistency of all our design deliveries and approvals to make sure that the message that we want to send is clearly communicated. 

  • Lead the signing of approvals and enable that the IKEA retailers and other stakeholders can access them. 

  • Create, support and update communication material, such as presentations, content in various expansion meetings and other forums. 

Qualification 

We are looking for you who is very creative, curious, passionate about people and communication. You are a down-to-earth team player who is driven by togetherness, simplicity and common sense and eager to take initiatives and achieve results together with others. Not afraid to try new things and develop new skills and areas as we go along. You strongly relate to the IKEA values and find motivation in doing things better together and differently with a purpose.  

We also believe you will need to have a combination of the following knowledge, capabilities and background: 

  • Excellent English and ability to edit and write in a clear and simple way. 

  • Knowledge and experience of how communication enable change management. 

  • Solid knowledge in digital tools such as Office suite, Adobe suite, news letter platforms, web platforms etc. 

  • Proactive self-starter who can see what needs to be done and drive it forward. 

  • Capability and understanding of how to facilitate as well as deliver a message or a presentation. 

  • Motivation in all stages of developing, planning, reviewing, producing and executing / publishing. 

  • Graphic skills as well as good capability of layout. 

  • Minimum 2 years working experience as a communication professional working for an international company. 

  • Educational background from Communication or Marketing on University level or similar that can be considered equal.
