About IKEA Consumer & Market Insights (ICMI)  

ICMI has the assignment to contribute to IKEA people making well-founded decisions based on actionable and timely insights. ICMI delivers Customer Experience Insights, Strategy & Market Insights, and Brand & Range Insights. Each of these three areas develops and/or operates insight products to IKEA people across our value chain.  

As a Devops Engineer (Senior Level), you will be part of the Data Engineering and Analytics chapter while working in a cross-functional team with one of the insight products of ICMI.  

 

 

 

Job Description

About the role  

As a DevOps Engineer for ICMI , you will be responsible for creating and maintaining the necessary environment for the product being delivered with continuous deployment. This is a brand new role, a standalone position where you will be required to take the lead and implement things from scratch.  

Your main responsibilities will include:  

  • Ensuring there is a holistic plan for automation of the CI/CD pipeline, working actively to implement the tools and processes required to make this happen

  • Build and Manage Azure DevOps pipelines for CI/CD and Release Management workflows

  • Manage GitHub (Azure DevOps) repos and automation

  • Develop Python functions, classes & packages

  • Develop and maintain Docker containers

  • Implement automated testing for the insights products

  • Ownership of tools and methods for continuous integration, leaving feedback to the rest of the organisation to ensure that we have a shared toolset and platforms fit for purpose 

  • Ensuring the automated deployment pipeline becomes a consistent and repeatable process 

  • Championing the need for regular release cycles, moving towards continuous delivery

  • Contributing to the development of standards against which software development can take place, as well as exploring and bringing in new technologies to boost innovation and development productivity

  • Working closely together with the rest of the product team and cross functions to produce all required design specifications and ensure that digital components across products work together and fulfil business needs

  • Updating the common Inter IKEA Group organisation on standards and methods when necessary to ensure alignment across Inter IKEA Group

Qualifications

About you  

  • Bachelor/Master degree or similar in engineering, informatics or equivalent combination of relevant training and work experience

  • 6+ years of experience working in an engineering capacity in a modern tech environment

  • Experience with Data & analytics services (Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL DW, and Azure SQL)  

  • Working experience with Python

  • Working experience with Big data

  • Experience with Containers such as Docker & Kubernetes

  • Experience working as an automation or DevOps engineer 

  • Extensive experience in setting up and operating an end-to-end integration and automated deployment pipeline

  • Preferred AZ-400 Microsoft Azure DevOps Solutions or similar

  • Understanding of modern cloud based architecture 

  • Knowledge of release preparation and release readiness in a technical environment 

  • Experience and fundamental knowledge of test automation tools 

  • Experience with agile development practices 

  • Knowledge of the IKEA vision, IKEA key values and IKEA Identity

  • Leadership experience or having the “take the lead” mindset
