The establishment of IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (ISMY) is to support/drive improvement in the current and future Logistics/Distribution Network within Asia Pacific. The organization will supply full range of IKEA products from High Flow and Low Flow goods to South East Asia market including Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australian, India and future new markets within the region.

We are strategically located at Port Klang (Pulau Indah), near Kuala Lumpur to cater for an efficient goods flow with minimum of lead time for the inbound flow.

Job Purpo

• Be a business partner to the management team.
• Lead internal and external communications activities with support from Leaders.

Assignment

Job specific key tasks and responsibilities

• Part of the local management team meeting and support leaders with internal and external communication
• Identify information and communication needs on the site and act accordingly
• Implement, maintain and secure the use of the communication channels on site level
• Develop the local communication plan and calendar on site level (Based on the area input) and anchor it in the local organisation
• Support the co-workers and managers in internal communication activities
• Support the management team in external communication activities
• Participate and contribute to the action plan process on local site level
• Create an open and sharing communication climate within the site
• Be guardian and ambassador for the IKEA Values & trademark
• Together with People & Culture, support leaders with Change management and trainings facilitation
• Promote and improve communication skills among leaders and co-workers
• Create communication material and execute communication activities

Qualifications & Capabilities

• Tertiary education in a Communications-related field.
• Min. 5 years working experience in communication areas, and knowledge of what communication channels to use for the best effectiveness.
• High proficiency in English and preferably, Malay – written and oral
• Have high integrity and ability to handle confidential and sensitive information in a responsible way.
• Experience in managing client/stakeholder relations and negotiations and facilitate meeting.
• Leadership skills and a good team worker
• Strong communication, presentation and organizational skills.
• Ability to simplify and organize complex issues and always strive to improve efficiency.
• Results-driven and with a drive to lead and motivate a team.
• A strong interest in communications, and communication media trends.
• Enjoy working in a fast-paced and future-oriented international environment
• Ability to work independently, take initiative, dare to make decisions and accept responsibility.

Additional information

This assignment will be based at IKEA Supply (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd at our Distribution Centre in Pulau Indah, Port Klang, Malaysia.
