The accounting department at IKEA of Sweden support several INTER IKEA Companies in Sweden with accounting services. As an Accounting Assistant you will be a part of the accounting assistant team and work with ledger administration, monthly closures and support the business and our stakeholders with various accounting questions. You will together with the team and our stakeholders continuously work to improve our processes, to gain efficiency and quality to reach excellence in our operations. You will report to the Accounting Assistant Manager at IKEA of Sweden AB.
About the assignment
As Accounting Assistant, you manage, together in the team, all financial administration and the main focus areas and responsibilities are;
• Maintain/setup of master data in our financial systems.
• General ledger/record bookkeeping transactions.
• Accounts receivable processes, matching payments versus invoices, creating customer invoices.
• Responsible for treasury activities; forecasting and handling payments to/from our bank accounts.
• Responsible for the administration of fixed assets register including yearly inventory.
• Responsible for reconciliations of accounts, analysis, and investigations of specific accounts/areas.
• Handle deviations and make necessary adjustments to be compliant with accounting legislation and practice, income tax and VAT regulations and group guidelines and rules.
• Support our Accounting Specialists with the monthly closings and year end closing.
We believe that you have good knowledge in the accounting, tax, and VAT area with experience from an international environment. Perhaps you previously have worked as an Accountant/Accounting Assistant for some time and are now ready for new challenges.
You take pride in being accurate, are analytical and can complete your tasks efficiently. You are curious, are open to new ways of working and strive to improve processes. Development comes natural for you and is a vital part to reach the vision and the goals.
You have good knowledge of Excel, Power BI, are interested in, and have experience from working with financial systems like Unit4 (Coda), Basware Alusta, Microsoft NAV, SAP or equivalent.
To be successful in this role you need to have a strong business understanding and to be able to prioritize your work.
As a person you are positive, a good team player and have very good communication skills.
