Job Description

We are now establishing a Data & technology department in Core business Range, with the assignment to lead by holding together data & technology in the core business. All with the purpose to enable business movements.  We are looking for someone to be part of leading Business Architecture for IKEA of Sweden AB, centring around the “Developing the Offer” business process. You will be responsible for the framing of respective Value Streams, assessing underlying capabilities, identifying gaps, and casting the resulting movements into roadmaps and robust scoping of initiatives/epics.  This includes impact on people, process, information, technology and organisation. You will also, together with your peers have the dual assignment to continuously improve architecture strategy and valued delivery for IKEA. You will support the process of identifying new technologies that will allow and enable us to meet more of the many people. We believe digital technology is core to develop and future-proof IKEA. 

More specifically, in this role you will be accountable for: 

  • Evolving the Business Architecture Aspect together with your peers in each core business; Developing a strategic network (from senior leaders to subject matter experts), strengthening the foundational role of business architecture as an enabler of a consistent Data & Technology blueprint.
  • Responsible to anchor our IKEA capability model and capability roadmaps around the “Developing the Offer” value streams.
  • Support the framing of all initiatives/ epics with a robust business architecture direction and fit. 
  • Responsible for up-to-date architecture artefacts and architecture patterns. Partnering with project teams to design, create and re-use of the same 
  • Evolve the Enterprise Architecture discipline and competences, especially value adding services like conceptual solution design, embedding architecture into the development teams (Classic or Agile), and creative ways of supporting the digital transformation. 
  • Shared Responsibility for the Inter IKEA Architecture Roadmap. 
  • Shared Responsibility for cross-domain architecture scrums / working groups to resolve strategic questions, continuously improve a consistent business and technology blueprint. 

In this role you will report to our Architecture Manager in Data & Technology Range, and work closely with the Architecture Manager at Inter IKEA Group to lead towards uniformity and commonality, contributing to the Inter IKEA architecture framework and delivering on the needs of IKEA.

To be successful in this role, we believe you are a strong enterprise architect, able to inspire and mobilize people towards clearly set objectives. 
 
We expect you to have a very good knowledge of information and business technologies with a specific focus on Enterprise Architecture concepts, methodologies and frameworks, and with the relevant experience and track record. You have had hands on experience in what it means to actually implement differentiated solutions supporting “Developing the offer process”, from virtual prototyping to launch.  You are comfortable with agile project methodologies and modern IT operations approaches, specifically DevOps, CI/CD and Cloud. 
 
We are looking for a visionary, pragmatic and adaptable architect with strong willpower. You are curious and able to build relationships in order to establish strong trust between the architecture community and its stakeholders. It is also necessary that you carry natural credibility, and you have a proven track record of reaching stretch targets. You are an energetic and collaborative leader who has a very good knowledge of IT and digital organisations, strategies and working methods.
