Job Description

About the role

You are a business-minded connector who gets energy by developing business through people. You will work together with your colleagues and business partners to manufacture and supply natural fibers products that are sold to IKEA customers at 456 stores in 61 countries around the world. This includes products made of rattan, bamboo, sedge and water hyacinth, also mix of natural fibers with metal, and wood materials. Always with affordability and sustainability top of mind, you drive the business to be faster and more innovative. You enable lower costs for IKEA, but never at any cost. Show us how you’d do it!

What you will be doing

As an informal leader, you will direct the steps and activities of a three-person micro-team that also includes a production engineer and a supply planner. Based on analysis, your group will create actions plans together with category business partners that enable sustainable and affordable business growth. This includes identifying potential areas to reduce production costs and create better designed products for our customers. You will also:

  • Develop strong partnerships with IKEA business partners through regular travel to production facilities
  • Act as an on-the-ground problem solver, giving and receiving feedback from business partners while coaching on the implementation of business plans
  • Identify potential cost-saving opportunities for existing products and launch the production of new products
  • Ensure consistent communication with business partners and IKEA colleagues, through phone calls, emails, team meetings, project groups and data entry

Qualifications
