Dortmund office belongs to Purchasing and Logistics area North and consists of several business units, such as Purchasing Development, Supply Chain Operations with Quality Support Centre (QSC), Supply Chain Development, and support functions like People & Culture, Admin & Finance.

We are looking for a 6-month support within the Product Quality team in Quality Support Centre EU (QSC).

About the role

It’s all about satisfied customers in our Quality Direction!

Our goal is to be faster and to provide more effective actions to quality deviations to ultimately reach greater success in the stores due to higher customer experienced quality. To meet the high expectations of our customers we have built up the Quality Support Centre structure globally.

We, as Quality Support Centre (QSC), organize and manage the quality deviation process together with our key stakeholders while always keeping customer expectations in mind. We achieve this through analyzing the potential quality deviations that our stores and distribution centers report to us. As franchisor, we need to secure that the franchisees get reimbursed and find a solution for the defected goods.  Moreover, we collaborate with our stakeholders to ensure that we learn from our mistakes and therefore, improve the quality of our goods and our processes.

QSC has two mandates: (1) Product Quality, where we, together with our stakeholders, ensure our customers ultimately purchase a product that has been well designed and produced, and meets our IKEA product requirements. ​​(2) Supply Quality, where we secure that our food and home furnishing products are well-protected and handled with care and that they reach our customers in good conditions.​  

As Product Quality Intern in the QSC Europe you actively contribute to the development of the product quality deviation process in the IKEA Supply Chain. 

In your role as product quality intern, you will:

  • Actively contribute to QSC activities to meet Global Quality goals in line with our Strategies.
  • Lead the interaction with involved stakeholders and coordinate an efficient and sustainable correction process to ensure high customer experienced quality.
  • Find better ways of working by improving/ developing processes.

Qualifications

  • Studies in engineering, business administration, supply chain or similar, with an interest in quality management and process optimization
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Strong communications skills
  • Good project management skills
  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
