We are looking for two people that has a passion for working with the core of the IKEA products. This is a hands-on assignment with minimal administrative tasks, using your skills to their full potential to nail the customer demands, translate them into hard targets, setting up verifications plans and analyze the statistical data to define the performance of the product.

Product development platforms is a central development unit, pre-developing modules for the textile, seating, sleeping & storage product ranges.

As a product requirement engineer you will lead the verification work within the strategic development of more innovative solutions for IKEA in either one or two of the platform areas.

This work provides a head start and unleashes the potential of outstanding development of our final products, fulfilling all aspects of IKEA Democratic Design.

You are part of the Product Development Platform team in IKEA of Sweden. Together with your team and collaboration partners, you always strive to work closely with the Business Areas in order to understand the business and the consumer needs and turn these into solutions. Some of your most important tasks will be to:

·         Identify customer needs

·         Translate customer needs into hard engineering targets

·         Define a verification strategy for each development project

·         Develop verification methods and tools

·         Making test plans and anchor them with test institutes

·         Based on verification tests, analyse data and present statistical analysis

·         Validate the solutions so it matches the customer needs

You will in your role lead the development towards clear targets, make sure that we verify the potential application area and defines the performance of the solution.

You will report to either Product Engineering manager Gustav Kamf or to Range & Product Engineering manager Matti Pettersson.

You come from working with product development and requirement management in one or more of the described  product ranges or other relevant areas and are eager to contribute to products in a new way. You believe in the power of innovation with a clear ambition to make things better, searching for new simple and smart solutions. With the ability to lead through hard work you create strong and trustful networks and relationships. We believe you also have/are:

• Knowledge, experience and understanding of the customers’ dreams and needs.
• Analytical skills with the ability to transfer knowledge and data into needs and actions
• Handle large quantities of information and work with more than one development teams and product areas in parallel
• Experience in requirement management and verification planning
• Preferred experience in Minitab software tool or similar
• Balance being a great team player whilst standing rooted in what’s best for the customer
• Good knowledge and understanding of the IKEA Value Chain, the development process and the prerequisites of the Supply and Retail organisations.
