We develop, maintain and share competence in regulations applicable to the IKEA range of products. These are challenging tasks, involving a number of different stakeholders and a network of both internal and external contacts, but extremely rewarding for the customer experience at the same time.

International and national requirements and norms such as directives, regulations and standards for lighting products are areas that evolving quickly.

This is having a huge impact on our products, and are therefore subject for a lot of investigations, analyses and clarifications.

Requirement Engineering is looking for a Product Requirement Specialist (PRS) addressing regulations related to our lighting products, lamps / light sources and luminaires. As a PRS you are responsible to identify and document correct, clear and receiver-oriented product requirements. In other words - creating pre-requisites for a safe and compliant product range. You will be part of influencing relevant new and existing legislations, regulations and standards, while you develop a network of stakeholders in external alliances and standardization organizations. You work together with different product development and product engineering teams at IKEA of Sweden. Furthermore, you work with requirements related to both new and complex product types, related to our lighting range, as well as with improvements to the current range. Your will work with requirements related to both new and complex product types as well as with improvements to the current range. At present both global and local standards, as well as regulations addressing lighting and related products, are being developed in different standardization organizations around the globe. To ensure that IKEA products are developed in compliance with these standards, as well as other applicable regulations and directives, you will be responsible to ensure that these are known and easily understood by the IKEA product development teams and suppliers.

Qualifications

You have a good ability to analyze and assess complex subjects as well as identify needed actions, while translating these complex issues into simple language. Based upon previous experience from the lighting domain, you are equipped to be a good speaking partner and an authority when it comes to interpretation of the derived product requirements from standards and regulations. You have solid experience in how regulations and standards are being developed and maintained in different standardization organizations and by international and local authorities. You know how to communicate it, in a way that makes the requirements available by training the development organization on news and updates. With an open mind, you have an interest in improving ways of working by applying lessons learnt from your daily work and to take a lead in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders.

You have:

  • A good understanding of the design, safety, performance and testing aspects of lighting products
  • Experience from standardization and / or development tasks including product design of lighting or similar products  
  • Very good skills in English both spoken and written
  • Capability and strong interest to build and to maintain a network of both internal and external contacts in the global standardization community
