About you
You are an experienced domain architect, used to work in complex and multi-national business environments. You have a drive to establish next-level domain architecture for knowledge and learning. You are used to working cross-functionally. You find creative solutions which are desirable, feasible and viable. You must be pragmatic. You’re sharp on all relevant factors which influence the architecture, like business processes, information security, metadata structures, cost of ownership, data privacy, ways of working etcetera. You see requirements as inspiration for gracefully designed solutions, and can visualise the steps required to fulfil on the ambition to specification. You understand that we cannot change all at once, neither that we can start from scratch, however you see the bigger picture and have a great drive for user experience, potential future system capabilities and want to achieve short and long term results.

You have either the formal qualification or similar level of working, thinking and knowledge of a master in computer science, information science, or related field. More specifically you are knowledgeable about IT architecture, TOGAF, ArchiMate, content management systems, knowledge management systems, talent management systems, learning experience platforms, as well as – to a relevant extent – of specialised and related fields such as IT security, information architecture, metadata, search, globalization, accessibility, UX roles, UX deliverables, UX process/user centered design (UCD), web technology, web 2.0 and 3.0 including semantic web stack.

We are taking great strides in the form of our co-worker content experience programme. It aims to innovate on an optimal user experience for our many co-workers to enable them to better meet the many customers. The programme combines our IKEA Concept knowledge with formal learning, user generated content and personalization, as well as other capabilities (which we don’t know as yet) supporting IKEA coworkers with the content they need in one orchestrated place.

About the role
The knowledge and learning domain architect we are looking for will contribute to this program by designing the architecture for knowledge and learning as part of the total digital architecture of IKEA. The work includes identification of relevant business processes, proposing what digital capabilities are needed to support these processes and what solutions and integrations need to be improved or developed for these capabilities. You will work closely with business stakeholders, business analysts, developers, user experience specialists, domain and enterprise architects, our suppliers and many others.

You will be part of the IKEA People and Culture Business Solution Area team, and have your assignment within the co-worker content experience programme.

As domain architect you can expect the following:

  • Lead the design and specification of the architecture blueprint for the domain, including business-, solutions- and IT architecture aspects and in the dimensions of applications, data and integration, for improving and amplifying the co-worker experience.
  • Document views and changes of current and future architectural state in the domain for operational, tactical and strategic decision making
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance and implementation of roadmaps and action plans, based on business and user needs and aligned with the digital technology landscape and our architectural principles
  • Contribute to architectural efficiency and synergies across, improving utilisation of existing capabilities and simplification of the total digital infrastructure
  • Guide the implementation of architecture standards in the domain
  • Contribute with architecture knowledge and expertise in domain portfolio, roadmap, plans and projects
  • Contribute to the total digital transformation scope
  • Work closely together with peers across IKEA Franchise, IKEA and development partners, related to the architecture for the BSA, to strengthen and contribute to a strong and relevant IKEA franchise offer

A few more details for you
You report to the Business Solution Area Manager.

This position is full-time (forty hours per week), for one year with intended renewal and is located in Delft, the Netherlands. Some travel may be required (after the COVID-19 restrictions and terms are clear). 

A behavioural assessment will be part of the recruitment process.
