About the position
We are looking for a Data Visualization Engineer (Front End Engineer) to successfully work with us in creating a data foundation in our transformation journey.

As a Data Visualization engineer you will be part of a product team within business support, leading the creation, development, and maintenance of (digital) finance products that enable stakeholders from the IKEA value chain and Franchise system to steer the organization based upon financial insights.

You conduct regular analysis on adaptation of the product and user journeys. You provide input towards the team for feature requests. Together with the product team you will implement the desired features.

You work with your product team every day, but especially with solution specialists and finance solution focused colleagues to provide the team with the visualizations needed to efficiently deliver to the product roadmap. 

Key responsibilities
In your role as a Data visualization engineer you will:

  • Be part of a DevOps product team and work closely together with relevant partners, peers and roles across IKEA.
  • Use Qlik Sense as a primary tool to visualize IKEA data.
  • Determine, develop, test and maintain the structure and design of the front-end parts of the assigned product, building reusable components and code.
  • Enhance the user experience and user adoption, by conducting customer analysis in collaboration with relevant roles within the product team and across IKEA.  
  • Ensure data and visual consistency with relevant digital frameworks, principles, guidelines and standards.

About you
As the ideal candidate you have  a combination of the following knowledge, capabilities and motivation:

  • Solid experience in data visualisation, design and implementation of visual interfaces (e.g. dashboards, web frontends, or apps) especially with Qlikview/Qliksense
  • Extensive knowledge of software development, especially within front-end.
  • Expertise in user experience, usability and visual communication, using technology as an enabler.
  • Understanding of data modelling methodologies. 
  • Life-long learner and problem solver through new and improved ways of working with a strong focus and understanding on users.
  • Able to work closely within a team and with colleagues with complimentary skills (e.g. data scientist, business analysts, etc.) with a ‘Can do’ attitude and excellent communication skills. 
  • Experience in DevOps and agile ways of working.
  • At least Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education (preferred Master’s degree) within Engineering, Information systems, Business analytics, or relevant field. 
  • Experience with and knowledge of Qlik Sense development, preferred 3-5 years in a similar role.
  • Experience in Qlikview/Sense infrastructure and administration will be an added advantage
  • Passion for retail and the possibilities that digital brings.
  • Motivated to work in an environment of constant change

Finally, you have at least a couple of years of working experience in similar functions. As Inter IKEA Systems is an international company with a global scope, fluency in the English language is a must.

A few more details for you
This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and is located in Delft, The Netherlands. Travelling may be required based on business needs and after Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. You will report to the Business Solution Area manager. Please note that we will be interviewing continuously, which means that we may close the application process earlier than stated if we find the right candidate.
