Job Description

In this role, you will support our business in understanding the value of information and digital assets; to ensure they are trustworthy, available when needed, managed with a particular attention to privacy and properly protected to foster our customers’ and users’ trust in IKEA. All to create a better everyday life for the many people.  

Your will play a key role in ensuring that information security and data privacy are naturally integrated in the business and product development. As an Information Security & Data Privacy Specialist at IKEA Home smart, you will lead the work and have the overall responsibility to ensure that information processed in the IKEA Home smart ecosystem is secure and protected, and that IKEA Home smart is compliant with applicable privacy legislations, such as GDPR.  

You will collaborate with subject matter experts, such as legal counsels and cyber security specialists. You will support and co-ordinate with all different value streams of IKEA Home smart. You are a trusted speaking partner to various stakeholders within our Business Area and for other units within IKEA working closely to us.  

In this role, you will be reporting to the BA Home smart Business Navigation Manager. 

Your main responsibilities will be:  

  • Lead and co-ordinate all information security and data privacy activities within IKEA Home smart 
  • Continuously liaise with the different parts of the IKEA Home smart business to see what developments are being made and what information is planned to be used that requires your support 
  • Monitor and alert the business on changes in privacy legislation affecting IKEA Home smart  
  • Initiating and performing Business Impact Assessments, Risk assessments, Privacy Impact assessments, mitigation controls in programs, projects and solution management  
  • Support the business to define security and privacy-related requirements and regulations for processes, solutions and ways of working 
  • Co-ordinate the business needs to identify risks and implement the Information Security and Data Privacy improvements in our organisation 
  • Facilitate risk discussions and ensure that risk decisions are taken at the right level in the organisation 
  • Support to ensure compliance within IKEA Home smart to Inter IKEA Group Policy’s, standards and rules as well as global, national and local legal demands regarding Information Security and Data Privacy  
  • Support the competence development of Information Security & Data Privacy in IKEA Home smart with awareness and trainings  
  • Continuously challenge and look for improvements in the ways of working, leading and steering to ensure our offer to our customers, users and our network remains relevant and delivers the needed value to the business  
  • Keep up to date on current and emerging trends, tools, methodology and leadership capabilities to further develop and align the area of Information Security and Data Privacy. 
     

Qualifications

You are flexible, used to navigate within a complex and changing environment and you are always striving for simplicity and clarity in everything you do. You work proactively, take initiative and you have the creative ability to find new solutions and optimize and challenge existing ones.  

You are fluent in English with excellent communication skills both written and spoken.  

In the role as Data Privacy & Information Security Specialist, we expect you to have:  

  • Excellent understanding of GDPR  
  • Experience from working with information security, data privacy/protection legislations, including GDPR, China Cyber Law and Russian Data privacy legislation  
  • Experience from coordinating bigger projects and supporting the business to implement and follow up  
  • Understanding of the business and information risks for relating to IKEA Home smart end users.   
  • Good knowledge of performing complex risk assessments, and supporting risk mitigation planning  
  • Excellent knowledge of Information Security best practices and standards  
  • Passion for the IKEA values and business  

In addition, it is a plus if you have:  

  • Excellent knowledge in translating business needs/requirements (including laws and regulations, industry standards/best practices) into practical, implementable actions  
  • Excellent knowledge of implementing end-to-end Information Security in an organisation  
  • Excellent knowledge of how to integrate Information Security, Data Privacy and Information Risk management into business and global/local business solutions  
  • Good knowledge of project management  
  • IAPP certification (preferably CIPP/E but other certifications are also meriting)
